Paypal shipping question

So about a month ago I bought a cheap shipping scale to try to save money on shipping. I just discovered when using it tonight that there is a black cap over the scale itself and that I've been using it incorrectly this whole time. Now everything weighs about 3-4 times as much as I thought it did. I've been under the impression that anywhere from 1-10 cards in toploaders weighs an ounce. I've never had a package returned because it weighed more than what I put in when creating the label.

So, does USPS actually check the weight of packages with prepaid labels?

I round to the nearest ounce when I ship and have never had a problem. Maybe you just lucked out and they never your mistake. I would make sure from now on you weigh correctly. I have heard of the USPS charging buyers for insufficient postage which is a good way to get a neg. or bad dsr's.

One thing I just noticed on my scale is that is has a troy oz(toz) ounce (oz) and gram settings. Make sure you don't use troy ounces b/c you will be under weighing everything.

It depends on where you live.If it is a small town then they might check.When I ship from Albany they never check.Too many people and too much mail.If I ship from the neaighboring city then they check.

I'll start using the correct weights, though. The post system is losing enough money as is.

Actually now a days the post mark can be done invisible. I kid you not, I used to work for the company that made
their invisible canceling postage machines that was sold to the USPS and it's vendors. So peal them off at will and reuse until
they send back you stuff for already been canceled stamps. :lol:

For 1 or 2 cards I put 2 oz for more I put 4 or 6
Yes the postage can be hidden but karma can kill a man
ALos never sell on ebay only on card sites

Using ebay/paypal is by far the cheapest and most convientient way to ship. The prices are .61 less per bubble mailer w/DC then if I were to go to P.O. and fill out D/C and send 1st class. Also for anyone concerned with their DSR #, the label you print with barcode for package your sending dosent have price on it, so there is no way for seller to know how much you paid, hence they can't say, you paid $2.02 + cost of bubble mailer and charged me $2.99, how dare you make a few cents...yada yada. The price goes up roughly .15 per ounce. 1 card in top loader and bubble mailer is 1 oz something like an encased card is around 4 oz.
