I have scale that I weigh my packages. If a package is 1.7 oz does the USPS expect me to round up to 2 oz or can I round down to 1 oz?

I really need to know the OFFICIAL "rule" b/c I have many packages to do and the extra 18 cents here and there adds up. But I don't want my customers having to pay for my lack of shipping.

Any help would be apprecaited. Thanks!

I personally round up if its 1.6 and up, down if it is 1.5 and lower.

Have never had a problem.

Always round UP. If you round down, your package wont be delivered or worse yet... your recipient will get it postage due (nothing about receiving mail ticks a person off more than that IMO other than poorly packaged goods).

1.1 to 2.0 ounces is the 2 ounce rate. 2.1 ounces goes to the 3 ounce rate. And so on...

Ok, thanks for the response guys. I'll just round up to be safe; was hoping I wouldn't have to - that's why I asked.
