PC Tunnel Vision: autographed cards

Aesthetically, logically, I know that there are many nice looking autograph sets out there. But lately I find myself thinking that any autograph NOT on a rookie card is just... a waste. I collect IP/TTM autographed rookie cards (baseball only). When I don't have a guy's rookie card to get signed I just get whatever card signed I have. However, I usually end up giving the card away. This must be PC Tunnel Vision. Anyone else experience PC Tunnel Vision? Care to share?

my main collection is of local team players but most in low"A" don't have cards .

For me, the PC consists of ML-licensed, first-year cards.

Unless part of a complete set, everything else is sorted, boxed up and just takes up space until I get rid of it.

I started out collecting HOFers Autographs and eventually got into the "gameused" craze as I got most of the easy autos> I went nuts with the gameused getting low numbered and hard to find HOFers... As I ran out of items to collect I started to pick up jersey, bats, gloves cards, etc.. of HOFers, all in attempt to keep the PC going. Then one day I got an autographed baseball of Tom Seaver that made my auto cards seem silly. I made a BIG jump and dumped all my gameused stuff (glad I did). At the time it was a big part of my collection and was not sure if I was making the right choice. Now I dont even look back. I continue to collect on card, pack certified autograph cards of the new HOFers to keep up with my card PC, but auto baseballs are now my passion.

Moral of the story is you tend to "collect" items when you run out of "stuff" to collect. Your PC will grow larger and larger with time. I took a time out, refocused, and slim down the PC to just what I liked (and yhink will hold value).....

you can never run out of signed stuff to collect...

I like contemporary signatures on contemporary items

if you take your time and do the research, you can have a nice collection of interesting players/pieces and not drain the wallet.
although worth more, all these were well under $50 ea.

What your struggle is really is your losing interest in it. . I graphed heavy from 91-96 went to college and then picked back up in 2004. Take a break and then come back when you miss it. When I started back I decided to complete the 90 Leaf set which am almost done with and start Minor League team sets. Trips to ST, AFL, and week long Minor League trips made it even more fun.
