I was talking to my fiance' last night about the PED & ROID users in baseball & she brought up a great point that I'd like to hear your feedback on.....

We ALL say at some point in either our professional or personal lives and while watching any type of sport...& coaches even preach....
"there is no "I" in the word "TEAM" ..... With that being said....

Do you think that the teams that had WON championships with a
PED / ROID user during their winning season should have to give back their championship title?

Technically the team would've won a championship with an advantage whether they knew there was usage going on or not....

If this were to happen then the MLB teams would either have a much stricter policy on use or turn a blind eye to any type of use....

So remember...."there is no I in the word team" so why hold just the individual player accountable instead of the whole team....

This question will spark your moral beliefs vs. rooting for your favorite team

What are your thoughts???

I don't feel very good about the chances of there even being one WS winning team in last 25 years that didn't have at least one user on the roster. So its kind of a pointless discussion IMO

Every team has had users and still have users. So where would you start and end. This goes for the mlb, nfl, nba, golf, etc. Too much money in it, to not be trying to cheat.

UNtil the players themselves want it gone and police themselves, it won't stop or change. Sounds the MLBPA, could be getting close, as for the first time many players are speaking out and wanting stiffer penalties.

I agree. While we can identify players who are definitively guilty, there is no way to project results on to a team, it is simply too complicated and there are too many unknowns. It's certainly unfair to players who were playing the game the right way, but there's no way to rectify this element.

There is no "I" in TEAM, but there is an "M" and an "E".

I don't think there's any way of quantifying the effects of PEDS on a whole team's outcome. You can't say for certain exactly who was juicing, and what effect the guys' juicing had. For example, what if a player on PEDS overtrained and landed on the DL? How different would that be for the team compared to another player's "enhanced" performance?

No way that's ridiculously stupid. What if you have a bench player on a world series team using PEDs...what do you do then? I think individual records should be stripped, but don't punish the team.

There would'nt be any championship team. Tom House stated that in the early 70's that 6 guys, including himself on the pitching staff of the braves were taking steroids and that that figure was common throughout baseball. 6 n the pitching staff. There arent any teams that dont have a large number of ped users.

There should be no tolerance - all of em should burn at the stakes.

What is done cannot be undone.

however, as I mentioned in the Selig thread, the way to get teams in on ridding the league of PEDs is to have them forfeit any salary due to a suspended player. That will either stop teams from taking a risk by financially rewarding a past player, or make the teams do some enforcing of their own.

Show me a team from the last 25 years that hasn't fielded with at least one player on drugs.

Can someone list the players with linked or suspected PED use for each year of the 21st century (2000-2012)? Or is the statement "every team had users" a blanket assumption?
