Wow. That is one hell of a play by Quintero. Guy deserves a standing ovation after holding onto that ball and taking that hit.

I doubt he will be playing in the next few days. If so he is one tough son of a bitch. He may be the MLBer with the worst luck out there. He is definitely MLB caliber but 1 thing after another seems to derail his progress.

Cameron does too after not giving up on the play. He got an earful from the Houston fans (understandable) but you can count me as one Astros fan that has more respect for him after that play.

Well you can't just give up in that situation.I think he did what was right.I would have had less respect for him if he had just run past and not tried to make him lose the ball.Cameron is a class guy.

I like Q defensively. But he just can't seem to get a bat on the ball.If he ever can he may be worth his weight in gold.

You don't see many borderline stars willing to sacrifice their bodies like that. Sure it is the correct play, but not many make it.

I guess it's natural to boo if you are in the crowd. Cameron obviously didn't have any mal-intent here. This was just what they call "a good hard play".

Hope Quintero is okay. Cameron is no little guy.

And that's why I like Cameron!

After seeing that I'm sure he could have been one HELL of a safety.

Mike Cameron is quickly becoming one of my favorite players, love the way that guy plays hard but at the same time you can tell he's a good guy. Besides the response from the Astros players who knew him he showed a lot of humanity when hitting that line drive off of Joe Martinez earlier this year.

That hit by Cameron was uncalled for. Regardless of the score he was out by at least 20 feet.

That's what makes it necessary.

If you are out you might as well try and make the catcher lose the ball .

Whatever dude. The moment Cameron and Quintero collide and when Quintero catches the ball is almost instantaneous.

I disagree with all that. That play was not necessary. It was not instantaneous or almost instantaneous. Not a dirty play, just stupid and uncalled for.

Right before Quintero catches the ball. Cameron has a perfect view of the play in front of him.

Quintero already has the ball.

The important thing is that in 30 plate appearances Mike Cameron is batting .120 against Matt Cain with 9 SO.

That is DEFINATELY close enough to warrant a collision. You said 20 ft? That's like 8 ft at full speed.

Don't un-necessarily bash Cameron.
