as much as this sucks I think the Pens will fare better this season without Gonch than they did last season when he was injured. Ray Shero signed Martin Skoula at the beginning of training camp and he will step into the lineup and take Gonchar's spot. Skoula is definitely not an offensive force like Gonch but he is a solid d-man and I think Letang and Goligoski will make up for the loss of offense.

also Max Talbot should be ready to return to the lineup at the same time as Gonchar and that will add an offensive boost to the Pens.
