He deserved it, he such a threat in the return game alone. I wonder if Oher would even have any votes if "Blindside" wouldn't have came out. I thought Wallace would get more than one vote.

Oher was damn near amazing but you're right about the movie.

I think Wallace deserved more votes as well. Especially over maclin.

I think it just shows how weak the Rookie class was. Not one rookie runner reached 1k yrds. The QB's were avg and the RB's were avg. He had about the same stats with a couple other receivers they just happened not to be returners.

I agree with the award. Could not go wrong. I will say though Harvin was a #2 WR where as Wallace was a 4th option after Hines, Santonio and Heath,. 2 1k receivers and an 800 yrd TE. I will also say Nicks had the exact same yrds and TD's receiving with less receptions(47 rec for 790yrds 6 td's) Percy 67rec for 790yrds. Took harvin 20 more receptions to even have the same yrds. Who was more explosive if that is the case?? Nicks also missed a game.

Harvin had 60 receptions for 790 yards and six touchdowns; rushed 15 times for 135 yards; took back 42 kickoffs for 1,156 yards (27.5 yards per return) and two touchdowns, one covering 101 yards. He also set Minnesota’s single-season franchise record for all-purpose yardage (2,081). And he also missed a game, although Nicks missed two games.

Maybe if the Giants didn't suck so bad the last half of the season Nicks would have had a better case. He also wasn't even close to the returner or runner that Harvin was so with that factored in it's no contest based on the final numbers.

You know I did say I agreed with the award LOL and I said the return yards are what did it as well. What do the Giants sucking down the stretch have to do with it. The Vikings really set the world on fire their last 3 games.
Thanks for posting your Harvin cards in your post ;) That convinced me even more. ::facepalm:: If Harvin was not a returner he would have finished 3 or 4. He is not the best receiver in the draft..Thus he wasa returner and he won and should have won...The 135yrd end around yrds did not factor... You can not dismiss it took 20 more receptions and an extra game to accrue the amount of yrds Nicks did...The fact he is a #2 receiver while nicks is a 3 or 4... Really liked how you were all Harvin missed a game then well "Nicks missed 2" ... I was just pointing out the class was weak. I was disappointed in the voting is all brother. Oher 2nd? Again because he was in the press with the movie and all..... Oh here is one of my Harvins for support.

I would say there are a few good players in this class and it wasnt as week as you say. The receivers played way above expectations, and Moreno and Wells did very well in their time on the field. Maclin, Collie and Wallace were great too, along with Nicks, and I dont see this type of production very often.

To say Harvin was the second option is nuts, plain and simple. Rice was number one, Shiancoe was number two, and Berrian was number three and spent more time on the field. THough he sucked and didnt catch as many balls, he was ahead of harvin in terms of being the third option. Hell, Peterson and taylor together caught more balls than both, so I guess that would make the RB the fourth option. Wallace was used primarily as a deep threat, but did not catch the kind of passes that Harvin caught, or ran the type of routes that Harvin ran. Nicks was definitely on that level, but didnt get as much attention due to a lack of other production.

Adam, Shiancoe was not number 2. If you are telling yourself that you are having an insecurity issue with Harvin having as many yrds with 20 more receptions and an extra game then Nicks.. I do not care if you watched every game or not. . Harvin was the #2... The targeted balls are not even close that is what dictates it. He was not the best receiver in the draft but was the best rookie stats wise with his returns. Wallace was not need to run routes like Harvin cause he is a #4 and the speed guy lol. Santonio ran those routes so why would you have wallace do it too? Again I say I agree with the award just not the voting with Oher 2nd.( Mike Wallace had 21 less catches BUT only 34 less yards the Harvin, and statistically beat him in long, tied in TD, had more over 40yrds, blew away everyone in average yards per catch, and Wallace wasn't even in the talk)harvin does not return balls he finishes as the 2nd or 3rd best rookie reciever.

If the Giants didn't suck so bad he might have had better stats, don't you think? The Vikings didn't mail in the last two games so that could have been more opportunities for Nicks to have higher totals. You were presenting Nicks as more explosive simply by average yards per catch but others could argue that having 3 ways to be explosive carries more weight as it should. The ROY award is not for the best receiver but best overall player. Maybe Nicks will win the Rookie Receiver of the Year award. Oh wait, there isn't one.

I can't even address the missed a game missed two games crap as I don't know why it was worth mentioning again, just stating the facts since you said Nicks missed a game he actually missed two and that didn't help him.

The class wasn't that weak, and you can be disappointed in the voting but agree with it I guess.

Posting my pictures had nothing to do with you or my "case" for him winning, just as a matter of pride and fun. Thanks for noticing.
