What an amazing QB. I have followed him since his days here in Tennessee. Of course it is tough to argue players from different eras but he has to be in the conversation for greatest of all time. Hopefully he gets his second ring next month!

Manning is simply Amazing. If I only had the $$$ a Contenders Rc Auto would be apart of the Collection.

I cheered for Manning while at UT so it was a given I would collect him once he went pro. My collection started with a SP Authentic rookie card out of a $4 pack while in college. Several years ago I picked up a Contenders on ebay. It was after a tough playoff loss and a lot of people were dumping his cards. I gave around $1,400 for it. It graded an 8.5 and the Colts won the Super Bowl the following year!

Congrats to Manning but Montana is still the best QB ever.

The right choice. He fully deserves it and will definitely be mentioned as one of the best ever at the position.

I'm happy with Manning winning the MVP, but find it completely insane that Chris Johnson did not receive one vote

I did not initially look at the totals until you mentioned this. I'll admit that I am surprised as well but then again I do not know the names or locations of the 50 voters.

Apparently 2000 rushing yards for the 6th time in NFL history and setting a new record for yards for scrimmage is not MVP-worthy.

Congrats to Manning though; I knew it would be between Brees, Favre, and Manning.

To me this may have been Peyton's most impressive season. I honestly thought this would be the year they took a huge step back, with Dungy leaving, Harrison gone, losing Gonzalez out of the gate, etc. etc......but it turns out none of those loses really mattered as long as you have Peyton back there with the ball and a chance to win it in the 4th quarter.

I'm also not surprised that CJ didn't get any votes, simply because there were so many great QB performances for the teams with the best records. I would not be surprised if CJ wins offensive player of the year though. This week when sports weekly had all the reporters give their picks for awards that was the case, and I think that would be fair for him to be recognized for that - as i get not voting him for MVP, but clearly he had an amazing statistical year.

I love the President Manning picture!

Here's one of my favorite cards. Initially the run was going to be of 99 but Topps had trouble securing enough footballs from the Super Bowl to complete the run so they lowered the print run. I think it is a run of 10. The seller posted it in his ebay store rather than posting it for auction. I have seen some of the other cards from the set here and there but it is the only Manning I have ever seen:

Peyton won it the last two years but did not win the award in '05, '06 & '07. Considering what Peyton accomplished the last two years I think the award had more to do with what he did on the field than love.

I dont really think he was the most deserving player for it this year but that's just me.

I can understand that and will admit that I was surprised by the voting results myself.

Who did you think was more deserving?
Only asking because I was honestly curious.
