I think this is what happens when you baby these pitchers. Back in the day, there were no pitch counts. Guys practiced throwing 7, 8 and 9 innings. Now with things like "Joba Rules" pitchers become weaker IMO.

I'm afraid there is something more to the story than "dead arm" syndrome. He has been pitching this way since late July last year.....several 3-2 counts after getting ahead of batters, no hammer pitch, and way too many long balls. Now add a FB that topps 88MPH and you have some HUGE issues. The DL is a safe place for him right now. However, not sure where he goes from there......
