Most of the fans on this forum are educated enough to know that there is more to the history of Philly fans that the posters in the pictures. Could've been worse I guess. The fans could've been vomiting on little girls or throwing batteries on the field.

Or run out onto the field with there son and beat the daylights out of the first base coach....
And again i see this battery thing. What the heck is that? what did that mean when they did this? I dont understand it...

#7 — Phillies fans routinely throw batteries at Dick Allen, the team’s only black player (1960s)

#6 — Phillies fans throw trash and D-cell batteries at Cardinals outfielder J.D. Drew (August 10, 1999)

I absolutely love the gross generalization. You've got 4 signs out of 45,000 people in attendance and the entire fan base of Philadelphia are a bunch of ignorant punks. You all should be so proud of yourselves for being able to make such broad generalizations.

Ah, but there were 2 pictures, and 8 signs total. Look at the people in the background, they all seem really nice. :? My favorite one was the guy with the fat slob sign. Way to plan ahead there. If you're going to make a sign you need to bring a marker, and before you begin you should probably look up the word "slob" in the dictionary so you are clear on which letter it starts with. ::facepalm:: Of course, it's all easily explainable with one glance at the guys shirt...

The only thing funnier than people bashing Phillies fans are the hyper sensitive fans defending themselves. Yes, of course not all Phillies fans are d-bags. Of course the vast majority are decent people. We get it. But we also get that trouble does seem to follow a bunch of them. Some team has to have the worst fans, even if it is only a small minority and from my personal experiences, that honour most definitely falls on he shoulders of Philadelphia.

I have no problem with Phillies fans, except the ones who somehow end up getting arrested. There were plenty of a-holes at the Niners-Raiders game yesterday - lots of people getting arrested and a guy ran onto the field and got arrested. Good times. Alcohol does funny things to some people.

It's the city as a whole I think. The article I posted earlier (interesting and fascinating, I had never read it) was more about the football team. After I posted, I went downstairs and talked to Ron, my friend the Phillie fan. I  'd and told him how I had just made a post on the internet about what ****** nozzles Phillie fans are. Then I had to explain the signs and everything... he thinks that it only applies to the Phillie fans who actually live in/near Philadelphia. The Colorado Springs Phillie Phan club is full of good people he says!

So I think if you're a Phillie fan in another town, you should mention that in your post. ;)

Sincerely,
Ryan, the Indians fan in Colorado Springs.

Philthadelphians are the lowest form of human on this earth, I live in the south jersey area and they all disgust me to no end. They all have that scum bag sense of entitlement when down the shore and believe they own the shore. They're rude and think you should kiss their asses, bud in and just disgust me. Haha I do loathe them bad. It's a shame cause there is plenty to do in Philly, just gotta avoid and ignore the scumbags.

the only time I will try to defend Phillies fans is when people say "all" phillies fans were "such and such"
As in this quote

Quote:
Another reason why all Philly fans are the most tasteless and ignorant fans in the sports world. Absolutely no class.

all are not
Yes a lot are nuts. it is what makes Philly, Philly. But to make a topic like this and not expect a Phillies fan to try to defend his team and fellow fans is just nuts. How many posts are there about this? I think the world gets it that Phillies Phans are nuts and will go to the extreme. but not all of us are like that. I don't know anyone like that.
Bottom line is I think the world does Know Philly is a harsh place but to say "all" Phans are crazy is not right.

I live in Philly and it is hard to attend games sometimes. Went to Pittsburgh saw them play the Phillies. Biggest douches in the stands were Philly fans. I was a little embarrassed to be wearing a Philly shirt with my Pittsburgh friends. Definitely not all Philly fans are d-bags, but there does to seem to be a lot of them.

This true and to build on Braden's point.....every team has total A-hole fans and one team's D-Bags aren't any worse then the other teams in the league. Philadelphia just has more of them. I live in Philly and can say without a doubt the professional sports team with the worse fanbase is the Eagles. I was at the Giants/Eagles game last year in a blue North Face jacket and almost got into repeated altercations. It was blue. No bother trying to explain to these cro-magnons that I was wearing a phillies hat ::facepalm:: and therefore not "the enemy"

In my personal experience I've seen the worst human behavior at 1:Eagles home games 2: Mets home games

You should know better than to wear enemy colors. A baseball hat at a football game (a fashion faux pas), with the opposing teams colors in said hat, as well as an opposing team colored jacket... be glad you made it out of the Linc.

Yeah...same as in Buffalo. I'm a Steelers fan but wouldn't go alone wearing my colors. Sooner or later i'd get a beer in the back of my head...or worse.
