Giants take 2 out of 3 from the Phillies on thier home turf last week and Philly fans are silent........now the Phillies have won two games and they're acting like they just won the NLCS. I understand Philly fans still can't believe the Phillies lost in the NLCS last year, but come on it's a series in early August. The Giants beat the bottom half of the Phillies rotation last week and the Phillies have beaten the bottom half of the Giants rotation, we'll see how it plays out the next two days with the big boys on the mound. The brawl was a mix of all the frustration for the Giants losing 7 of the last 8 games and the Phillies feeling like they have something to prove in August because they were beaten soundly in the playoffs.

Oh and just for Kevin, love the crying picture reminds me of this one.......Enjoy 8-)

 Good night!
Having seen the replay on ESPN I would have to say that there wouldn't have been a fight had Whiteside not acted like a ******* hopping up and down then attacking Polanco. Victorino had been stopped and looked like he was cooling down up to that point but F'ed up by going berzerk later. Looking at the pitching matchups the only chance the Giants have to not get swept is Sunday with Lincecum vs. Oswalt.

i agree whiteside helped that brawl along... but you gotta give the guy a break... it's been awhile since he's played.

somebody just needs to photoshop some bunny ears onto that animated gif and it can last forever.

Isn't it Cain and Oswalt tomorrow?

Which Scooby Doo was it? Was it the movie with Bat-Man and Robin from the '60's, I enjoyed that one with my kids a couple of days ago when it was on Cartoon Network. I couldn't blame the Giants if they were watching that instead of the train wreck so far in this series.

what is funny is if the Phillies were getting slammed by the Giants in this series Giants fans would be on here gloating all about it posting there pics of Howard striking out from last year. (oh they did that already) LOL. But really, you Giants fans know you too would be loving it if the PHillies lost these 2 games rather than you guys.

Mlb keeps showing the dugout cam.

Good to see so many giants players not even in the dugout. Had to run out of the clubhouse. Probably watching cartoons in there.
It was reported that one of the Giants players shouted into the clubhouse "Come on girls this is our chance to grope them" :P And you can see how enthusiastically they ran out there to do so.

apparently Aubrey Huff kept calling Victorino "little b!tch" during the melee. The last two games could get interesting.

Everyday lineup has a huge advantage to the Phillies. Only Beltran and Sandoval would crack the Phillies starting lineup. The Phillies have an advantage with the starting pitching as well. Halladay/Lincecum is a toss up, but with the other four matchups I'll take the Phillies starter. Bullpen is a pretty big advantage for the Giants as they have established roles with relievers that have been successful. The Phillies pen has been pretty solid this year, but they are all in new roles so I'd much prefer the Giants bullpen at this point.

Ryan Howard -vs- Aubrey Huff
Utley -vs- Keppinger
Rollins -vs- Orlando Cabrera
Polanco -vs- Sandoval
Chooch -vs- Eli Whiteside
Ibanez -vs- Beltran
Victorino -vs- Andres Torres
Pence -vs- Cody Ross

Halladay -vs- Lincecum
Cliff Lee -vs- Matt Cain
Hamels -vs- Bumgarner
Oswalt -vs- Vogelsong
Worley -vs- Sanchez

Bastardo/Stutes/Lidge -vs- Lopez/Affeldt/Ramirez
Madsen -vs- Brian Wilson

If you write about stuff like this, you must really hope it comes true.

Right now the Phillies are the better team. The Giants are trending downwards but there's still plenty of time to pick it up!

This is true but we could have made the same comparison last season and we know how that turned out. Stats looks great on paper, but sometimes it doesn't translate to the field. Personally I'd take the healthy Giants line-up over the Phillies but that's because I think they play with more heart.....but I'm biased.

CF-Torres
2B-F. Sanchez
C-Posey
RF-Beltran
3B-Sandoval
1B-Huff
LF-Ross
SS-(Whichever statue they decide to use)

Don't worry about him. He makes homophobic comments all the time and thinks he's clever

The Phillies are obviously a better team on paper than the Giants or any team in the NL. But, that's why we play the games instead of having a Yankees-Phillies World Series each year. That's what made last year so special. The Giants beat Hamels, Lee, Oswalt, Halladay and everything else that was thrown at them with a team of scrubs (on offense anyway) that played with heart and great timing.

2010 is already a blur for Giants fan. Soon the Cory Rose home run memories will be gone and they will be watching
the D Backs in the playoffs.
