Great end to the series for the Giants, finally got some hits with runners in scoring position. If these two teams meet in the playoffs the Phillies are going to need more production from Howard, 1 for 12 with 8K's, ouch. Hopefully Beltran is too hurt and can get back on the field soon.

If you didnt notice Howard isnt the entire team> Even with him having a bad series Phillies still took 3 out of 4 from you guys. So even with Howard doing bad our team can still play great ball.

And we'll see in the playoffs. The Phillies are playing their best baseball of the season. The Giants are playing their worst. When everything evens out, let's see who's the better team. Even with the Giants losing 3 out of 4, I still come out of this series fairly optimistic. The Giants still went 3-2 against the Phils with our best 4 pitchers starting, and the Phillies manging just 1-2 runs per game. I'd be very interested to see what happens once the Giants offense stabilizes. The Giants were the last team to beat the Phillies before the win streak and today they ended the win streak. I don't think the Phillies should count on a World Series berth just yet.

Lets remember that the Giants didn't face Halladay once and had to throw out Lincy to win 2 of the 3 games they
did. The Phillies pretty much dominated all the other games. Id take Lee and Hamels over Cain and whomever. Halladay
can just dominate, even a great hitting team, which the Giants have never been. The difference between this
year and last year has to be the Phillies #2 and 3 starters who are just lights out. Hamels is back to his 2008 form
and we all know what Cliff Lee can do.

I agree its all about who is hot in September, but Ill take the starting 4 for the Phillies over the starting 4 for giants
all day.

Season series Phillies 4-3, the Giants took a series in Philly (The only team to do that this season) and the Phillies took a series in SF. Looks equal to me. Like I said, in the playoffs the Philly need Howard to produce, not strikeout again and again, if not they have little chance of beating Cain and Lincecum. He may not be the whole team but he's big part of it.

Phillies didn't really "dominate", they got only 3 hits vs Cain in one win and were shutout by him earlier in the season. They lost two to Lincecum, only managed 3 runs against a struggling MadBum in another win and didn't face the NL ERA leader Vogelsong. Considering the Giants hitters have beaten Halladay, Hamels, Oswalt, and Lee in the playoffs and the Phillies only had two good offensive games in 6 game vs the Giants I still feel good about a rematch in October.

Howard had the best obp last year in nlcs. No one was hitting in front of him. This year we will see how it all plays out but hamels is looking better each start. Since the heat stroke halladay been a lil off with his pitching that just my opinion.

In this last series id hate to say this but it seems we did domonate. Just counting the runs produced... We had 15 runs in the 4 games Giants? 6 ....15 to 6. .....
But like others said this isnt the playoffs. But the Philies are a much different team this year than last.. Much different..

The Phillies bats dominated one game, where they won 9-2, otherwise it was 6 runs to 4......

True the Phillies are a different team, but so are the Giants, they now have championship experience.

You Giants/Phillies fans are relentless. It's going to come down to who has the hotter bats, just like it did last year.

The Phillies aren't the hitting team they were in 2008 and 2009. And like last year, it came down to who was hotter.

accualy i feel we are better at hitting than 08 and 09. With Pence now and Mayberry and so forth. Also our pitching is MUCh better than last year, Oswalt has not pitched in a MLB game in a long time.
