the Phoenix Coyotes won their 9th game in a row tonight with their 2nd consecutive shootout victory. they beat the Dallas Stars 3-2 and with their victory and the Sharks 5-1 loss to the Edmonton Oilers they move into 1st place in the Pacific Division and are tied for 1st in the Western Conference with the Chicago Blackhawks who they beat in a shootout last night.

the Coyotes have not made the Playoffs since relocating from Winnipeg to Phoenix. their last home game in Winnipeg was also their last Playoff game in 1996. it will be nice to see a new team in the Playoff mix this season.

Wow, who have guessed this last fall? I hope the Coyotes do well in the playoffs. They dont have many fans, but the ones they do have are pretty good and they deserve some playoff success.

I could have sworn they have made the playoffs as the Coyotes. Anyway, I think this says two things. 1) Just how bad of a coach Gretzky was, and 2) How stupid Dallas was to fire Tippet. The guy can coach. Maybe not the most exciting brand of hockey, but obviously it works.

The Coyotes 9 game winning streak is on the line tonight as they are losing to Chicago 2-0 in the third period. If Chicago holds onto and wins they will grab sole possesion of first place in the west. Presently Phoenix and Chicago both have 97 points. Truly Amazing!!!

The Hawks won. Back to first place, however if everything holds....I would rather they finish 2nd or 3rd. Detroit is in 8th, and I would rather not have to play them.
