Al Kaline was a Hall of Fame outfielder for the Detroit Tigers and one hell of a nice, quiet guy as well. He was one of those players who put up great numbers, didnt do it in a flashy way and did his job for many years out of the white hot spot light like others of his era enjoyed.

I recently ran across this picture and was taken with the lighting, the youthfulness of Kaline and the apparently wonderment in his eyes as he still looks like he is in awe of his surroundings. This picture may not be one of the most dramitic ones I have posted but I thought for it's simplicity it is an incredible shot.

I hope you enjoy today's photo of the day.

Thanks for sharing. Looks like he is enjoying the game and just being there.

One of the all time greats. Most Home Runs (399) by someone who never hit more than 30 in a season.

Awesome pic! It does seem cool how he seems to really be intrigued and struck by the game he's watching. Guys behind him are all complacent with it..
