Babe Ruth was probably the most photographed individual in the first 50 years of the 20th century. One can find photos of Ruth hunting, fishing, golfing and lets not forget drinking and eating. A few years ago I ran across some pictures taken by the Chicago Tribune staff of Ruth in various situations in and around Chicago's Comiskey Park. After seeing hundreds of Ruth images I am convinced that he was willing to wear or do just about anything for a photograph because he was just a big kid at heart.

I hope you enjoy today's photos of the day of Ruth being a big kid!

Fun pics! I think Ruth is centered above car windshield, wearing a vest. Ruth did have lots of crazy poses - enduring him to the common fan and especially kids.

Is anyone aware that the Baby Ruth Candy bar has absolutely nothing to do with Babe Ruth? It's actually named for Grover Cleveland's daughter Ruth Cleveland....It's true. But, the rest of the story is that it was probably promoted as such, to keep from paying royalties to the Ruth family

I was aware Baby Ruth was more associated with the Presidents daughter and not the baseball player. My heading was actually taken from the movie the Goonies but it did help that the words from that line matched (almost) today's subject!!!

I wonder how many ball players today have anywhere near as much fun as Ruth had. He seemed to love life and live it fully.
