Got these in the mail yesterday. I think they are ridiculously cheap at current prices, and may try to snag some more if I have the funds.

if you don't mind telling, how much is ridiculously cheap?
You can get them for under $300 these days (when they show up on eBay.) I paid $550 for the pair, but after the 13% from live/bing and 2% from eBay, it ended up being around $470

Your version of "ridiculously cheap" is different than mine. Not to say that they are expensive, but to call them "ridiculously cheap" is...well...ridiculous.

It's a nice card, but the market is dictating the price.

I may have overstated it a bit. That said, it's a card that at one point in time was getting over $600 raw, and I don't know if it ever before was this cheap, despite the fact he is having the best season of his career.

In my opinion when those were pulling 600 per, cards as a whole were selling for extraordinary amounts. I'd like to think that prices now are beginning to normalize with the economy being the driving force.

A BGS 9.5 Vince Carter rookie numbered to his jersey number also once sold for $14,000...but it's still not a deal at a tenth of the price.

That said, I do like that Fielder rookie, I just have a hard time using to past to determine a good deal.

Is Prince going to be in Milwaukee much longer? I think he signed a two year extension prior to this year. I'd read he was upset that Braun got a long term deal and he didn't. He could put up some huge numbers in Fenway.

If he has another year like this next year, Milwaukee almost HAS to move him at the trade deadline next year (unless he signs a "managable/put-the-team-first" type contract a la Braun or Longo. Fat chance though...). I say they have to move him, regardless of the pennant race. His value will just be too high to effectively trade him at the end of the year for a 1st round draft pick.

Unless the Brewers' pitching gets astronomically better somehow over the off-season (again, fat chance), they probably won't be much of a contending team anyway; maybe a little better than they are now (which wouldn't be enough).

I definitely won't look at the past to determine what the current price "should be," but based on his performance and my view on the market, I think that there's plenty of room for profit here.

Lotta love for Fielder here. I'd love to find a home for my orange ref auto. I know what those went for too.

You drop it on eBay? A gold ref recently got $415. (Another with significant damage got $73, but that should not really indicate anything.)

Picked that up on Saturday at a show. I brought a bunch of cards, sold them to one dealer for 95 and then bought this for 95.

I'm a little puzzled by the current prices of this card, too. Not that I was expecting the $600+ right now with the economy, being on a pretty lousy team, and well past his prospecting days. But given that he's leading all the MLB in RBI's I wouldn't think that card wouldn't be at the lowest prices I can recall.

Meanwhile a raw 2006 Bowman Chrome gold is outselling them? :?
