I know things change. I am not resistant to it, but some things are just a shame to lose. One of those is penmanship, specifically to the hobby of collecting autographs. We really don't need to draft things in cursive any longer. The signature though, it a lost art that I do miss.

I am speaking of the Sayers dual card, but the other card also lends to the argument as well. A stark contract of what was and what is now.

Quantity of signatures may make a difference now. I imagine Harmon Killebrew signed a lot, but way less than Derek Jeter. Charlie Gehringer signed less than Killebrew most likely. It's all relative, but still sad that most signature now are illegible scribbles. Even Maddux above looks nothing like his name in cursive form.

Even college players mostly scribble or initial. I always complement a nice signature.
