Pink Hat Auction... Part 2!

For those of you who were around at the Spring Expo of 2007, quincy (Steve Angel) wore a gawd-awful pink hat that said "Angel" on it. Anyone who made fun of the hat was asked to donate $1 to charity (in that case, the Autism Society). After the auction, the hat was auctioned off on eBay with lots of hobbyists throwing in cards to help build up the value. At the end of the day, over $4,000 was raised for Autism.

We are planning another Pink Hat auction at the upcoming Sports Card Expo in Toronto this weekend! This time... I get to wear the pink hat, that says "Princess" on it - picture here:

I'm already building up the thick skin for all the comments, but at the end of the day, we are doing this to raise funds for another worthy charity - the McMaster Children's Hospital in Hamilton, Ontario. Why McMaster? One of our members, carmichaelpt (Chris Carmichael), has a young daughter who has gone through many surgeries and appointments at McMaster, and we want to give back to a place that really does amazing things for kids.

How can you help?

Come by the HobbyInsider/ The Insider's Edge Magazine booth (usually located across from the ITG booth) during the Expo weekend... introduce yourself as an FCB member... get your FREE Insider's Edge magazine... make fun of me in the hat (don't get too nasty, I have a bodyguard)... and throw in either some $$ or some cards that we can auction after the Expo! Anything is appreciated, but obviously we would prefer decent cards (no base please) to sell so we can hopefully TOP the last auction!

it's great to see the HI guys doing this again and I love the joint venture between my 2 favorite message boards.

Good luck with pink hat part 2 Bruce, im sure you guys will raise a lot of money like last time. I won't be at the Toronto expo this spring, but i will be at the Calgary show 2 weeks later, are you going be in Calgary for the May 14-16th Bossa show?
