Dave, sorry to hear you're going to miss it again this year. The Van Slyke fiasco has been really frustrating, since I was really looking forward to the chance to meet him. It would seem like a pretty simply situation...if he's agreed to appear, put him on the promotional materials. If he hasn't committed, don't add him. I could understand if something came up and he had to cancel, but he has been added/removed at least three times now.

Looks like NBC really can't do anything right these days. If there are any autographs you want, let me know. I'd be happy to get some stuff signed, or grab a few extra postcards. And if you need any images of McCutchen to print out as an 8x10, let me know. I have a few already cropped/sized to be 8x10 on my computer.

Mark if you happen to get an extra Elroy Face and/or Bob Friend postcard that would be cool but I already have pretty much everyone else that I would want and is scheduled to be there. I am curious to hear how the attendance is this year. I know the last few years the numbers have been higher than ever and with the Steelers not in the playoffs I would imagine the attendeance will be even higher.

as for the McCutchen I think I will probably go with an OMLB. thanks for the offer of the photos though.

I'll be there on Saturday for Maz to sign an 8x10 and OMLB and I'll probably get Garrett Jones to sign an 8x10 and a OMLB too. I already have enough McCutchen, so I might not stand in line for an hour just for him.

I would LOVE to see Van Slyke show up!!!!!!

I'm very excited they have Maz signing in the early group Friday. I'm not crazy about the higher number of guys they will have there this year, since guys like Friend, Face, Blass and Groat sign numerous times throughout the year at various alumni events, but I can understand the logic of bringing them in for the 50th anniversary of the '60 WS.

Dave, have you been to any of the Dick's signing before? If so, how are the lines, and how early do you think I would need to show up? I may forgo the Latrobe luncheon this year and just hit the Washington stop this year if I'm not able to get the guys at Seven Springs.

Mark I haven't been to any of the Dick's signings. sorry I can't help with that one. we always go to either Uniontown or Stubenville and the lines are always pretty long but the players have always stayed past the time they were supposed to to make sure everyone get an auto.

I went to a Dick's signing last year when McCutchen was there and it was pretty crowded, but it was also the day after the Pens won the Cup, so everyone was out getting their shirts & hats, so that may have had something to do with it. I've been to a few other Dick's signings with Pirate players and there always seems to be a decent amount of people there. Hope that helped.

Thanks for the info guys. I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone gets signed. I already have a large stack of cards sorted...now I just need to wait on the shipment of 8X10's I ordered to come in.
