I think every player collector at some point faces the decision I now face...keep going with your guy or move on to another.
I currently collect mainly Josh Hamilton and I have (what I think) is a pretty awesome collection. I have over 1,800 different cards with 225 autos and 90 1/1s. I have about 5 years and $20,000 invested, but since he signed with the Angels I have found myself less interested in picking up his stuff.
I have thought about re-focusing my efforts on my old PC guy Ivan Rodriguez or starting a new player collection all together. I have also thought about just drawing a line in the sand and only pick up cards from 2013 back. I kind of want to collect a current player so that I can stay interested in new products as they come out.
I would love to hear any thoughts, ideas, or suggestions others might have regarding this. Surely I am not the first one to go through this.
Thanks for your input.
