I have no problems with anyone updating a thread during the voting; if some great new additions give you a late surge, more power to you. Also, PLEASE MAKE SURE TO LOOK THROUGH ALL THE LINKS BEFORE VOTING, EVEN IF YOU ALREADY DID IN ROUND 1. There are a lot, but there are a lot of spectacular collections here. Moreover, as people have updated their collections since the start of this contest, it is worth browsing through them again before voting. Voting ends 48 hours after the time of this post, and any ties will have a 24 hour tie-breaker. If that too ends in a tie, we go to a coin flip (yes, it happened last year).

I really do apologize because I've gotten many disappointed emails that I didn't write more...

I wanted to take the opportunity to share my experience of the evolution of collecting from the early 80's to current. I, along with a handful of other collectors on this board have extensive knowledge on the subject that current collectors don't quite grasp.

Everybody understands why Mantle's RC is so expensive, but most people aren't aware that a '90's $2 BV cooperstown bound promo costs more than a hot rookie's best 1/1 card. The evolution of collecting is very very interesting. I just wish I had the time to give my background and my take on it, mostly to spark some in-depth conversation about it

People here will appreciate guys like Bouweb's Nolan Ryan collection, but they don't fully grasp what it was like collecting the player prior to the existance of cards on the internet! Collecting now has very intereresting PC hurdles that are much different than the ones we had back in the day. Its still a tossup to me which is harder to collect, but the differences within just a few years is very amazing.
