Regarding the overpriced listings... I simply send the seller a note and tell them that I like the card but it's more than I was looking to spend and to let me know if they ever get to the point that they would be willing to accept $X. I have about a 50% success rate in buying the card. It's almost like a "best offer" when the seller does not have the best offer option enabled. Good luck with your player collections! Tom

I have found a never ending outlet with signed cards to keep me interested, but will still do daily player searches too. Aside from the new cards from the likes of panini, Topps and Leaf that pop up after certain new issues are released, it is rare to find any older cards I need or want. A search through this site actually landed me a couple cards that were not being publicly offered, but I was able to reach the guy and strike a deal, but that doesn't happen very often either.

I face similar problems, but compared to you guys my completion % is not high enough (somewhere around 50-55%) where I don't often see cards I need. I see alot of the lower-end stuff but most of it I feel is overpriced. I also need alot of GU, and right now most of the GU stuff just doesn't interest me as much. So basically I find myself picking up only rarer inserts and other things that catch my eye, which on average probably equates to 1-2 new additions per week on average, which is very slow moving. Thankfully I guess Posada doesn't continue to have alot of new releases so I'm still able to make progress.

However, for me, the most annoying this is this one seller who lists like 50-100 posada commons/low-end inserts at around $3-5 each(way overpriced) and he lists them for 1 day auctions, almost every day when he fancies. So every day I find myself flipping past these, often twice as I look through the newly listed and the ones that are ending.

Personally I just venture into other avenues when there's not much on the card front. On the dry spells I'll look for magazines, articles, ads, pins, etc. with Brooksie pictured, or save a bit and try an upgrade to nicer condition cards. I also have a listing of home run game tickets that when I can't locate anything interesting I'll start to search for ticket/stubs to his HR games and/or milestone games; makes it interesting. Part of the hobby, hopefully kinda fun, is the search...
