I was looking at a couple of Manny Ramirez cards on Burbanks' Beckett site when I noticed they have 2,677 different Manny Ramirez cards in their store! Yikes. I guess it never occured to me that to consider your player collection the "biggest in the world" it would probably to be above Burbank. It's actually really close as I am at 2,649 different Manny cards- so we are neck and neck. But still the vastness of their inventory is pretty amazing. Here are a few other players that came to mind just as examples and the # in Burbank's Beckett store :

Derek Jeter 2869
Tony Gwynn 2332
Larry Walker 1869
Jose Canseco 1201
Juan Gonzalez 2091
Cal Ripken 3009
Frank Thomas 3360
Travis Fryman 594
Rickey Henderson 1256
Ken Griffey Jr. 4070
Greg Maddux 3155
Andruw Jones 2441
Jeff Bagwell 2801
Mark McGwire 2987
Alex Rodriguez 3934

Different.
If you type in a set and year and a player (for example 1998 bowman chrome manny ramirez)- it will show like 6 items for that year. Each one they may have 1-30 in stock but each different card only counts as one item no matter how many they have in stock. I'm pretty sure that's how it's working but Beckett's db is quite the jalopy.

Burbank demolishes me on everyone except for Ryan Kalish. They have 15 Kalish cards, and I have at least that many. I'm halfway to their stock of Troy Glaus (1585), but for players like Thome, Helton and Rolen, I'm lucky if I have 30% of what they have.

I don't actively collect Zimmerman as a Player Collector anymore. But they have 248, a bunch of which are Moments and Milestones. I had plenty more than that at one time.

The # that came up is 85, so if that is the total cards they have, or the total differences IDK, but based on that number, I have a couple hundred I want to say that are different.

They eat my dust on Bagwell. As for Stackhouse, not sure if they have any or not as I have not checked. In any case, that would be changing shortly either way. Lambert I don't really collect too much because other than a nice auto or two I'm after, I have all of his original cards.

And the winner is....FCB by a knockout! ;) I know there are lots of heavy hitters on here in the player collecting arena. But that's impressive. It's not really a big deal to me since I have slowed down a lot in collecting Manny, but perhaps at some point i'll check in and be past Burbank.

It also speaks to their inventory a bit though- that they are so loaded up with Jeters and Griffeys and Ripkens, and have comparatively few Gomes, Butler, etc. I was under teh impression that they had a LOT of everything, but that may not be the case... Of course the stars tend to have more cards produced too.
