Thats great...I remember that day well,Cubs /Cardinals on fox baseball game of the week,and Joe G. talking to fans with the microphone,stating the game had been cancelled.And found out Kile had passed away.

Great family guy!

Thanks for profile. I was living in Chicago when Darryl Kile died. That was just eerie feeling being around the ballpark then.

Kile's curveball was so good, yet so ineffective in Colorado that I think he may have helped the Rockies shape their pitching staff with more sinker/slider type pitchers.

You know, I didn't really consider this when I was writing this but that does make a lot of sense. Curveball pitchers still get eaten alive in Colorado.
