Players everyone else likes, but you can't stand?

Which players don't you like that everybody else seems to like? Why?


For me it's:


David Ortiz- everyone seems to think ortiz is this great guy because he is always smiling, but I've seen a bunch of his interviews and he just says stupid thing after stupid thing and then starts laughing. I find it obnoxious. Everyone seems to forget he took PEDs as well.


Torii Hunter- (When discussing gay people) "For me, as a Christian … I will be uncomfortable because in all my teachings and all my learning, biblically, it's not right." That's such an idiotic thing to say. I've seen other interviews of him and he seems very conceited as well, so I don't understand why he's so revered.

Mariano Rivera- What a jerk! JUST KIDDING.

David Ortiz is a genuinely nice human being. My buddy is good friend with his brother, he said not only is Ortiz a nice guy, but he is absolutely selfless when it comes to helping people and kids out in the DR. He said he is the kind f guy that would give you the shirt off his back. Another buddy of mine told me a good story about him once as well. My buddy said he was walking down the street in Boston and he heard a group of kids across the street start yelling at a car that was stopped at the traffic light. My buddy was curious to see what all the commotion was so he stopped walking to watch and see what was going on. He said when the light turned green one of the cars pulled over and the driver got out and walked over to the little kids and started signing autographs and talking and palling around with the kids. The driver of the car was David Ortiz.

I read this as "Everyone likes" and of all the names mentioned only Jeter and Mo count IMO as universally liked players

No one likes Rapelisberger, even Steeler fans and everyone knows Michael Jordon is a huge ****** IRL. Neither have ever been considered who everyone likes. Yadi, Pujols, Posey and Votto are not universally liked or disliked.

I like Jeter and Mo. And Ortiz.

Mariano Rivera. Its not that i "cant stand" him, i just dont get the hoopla for relief pitchers, especially ones that only throw one inning.

Brian Wilson. Act like you've been there before, for god's sake. Clown. And that friggin beard. It's guys like him (and Valverde, too) that make people not respect closers. I got pretty tired of the talk radio talking about how smart Wilson was.

Ben Zobrist - seems to play all over the place and does a good job but a little overrated because he looks the part.

Brendan Ryan - he maybe the Ozzie Smith of his generation but that really isn't saying much when he hits .200.

Mariano Rivera - I guess I don't quite understand what made this guy the patron saint of Major League Baseball. You'd think he won 500 games and struck out 6,000 guys with the way everyone treats him. I don't hate him for what he's accomplished but he isn't a saint.

Bryce Harper - still comes off as sort of a ****** at times but as long as he puts up numbers and plays like Pete Rose, he can get away with doing what he wants.
