I'm referring to investments, but which players do you keep picking up, because no matter what (it seems) prices stay low enough that it doesn't make sense not to.

Awhile back for me the guy was Scott Elbert. Elite's were $6 or so, and he was considered on of the top pitchers in the minors. Injuries got in the way, but hopefully this season is big for him (and regardless, at that price the risk was really low anyway.)

Another guy for me has been Volstad. At $5 or so a Sterling Auto, it was a no-brainer to stock up. 10 of those for $50 is a ridiculously low risk for the potential (won't take much for those cards to be $10-$15 each, and that's a 200%-300% increase easy.

My most recent guy has been Billingsley. Bowman Chrome Auto's for $20-$25 of one of the best young pitchers in baseball, who also happens to play in a big market. I have 15 or so, but keep wandering back to snag some more as the price just seems to be too low for the player he is.

Anyone have players that they stock up on over time simply because the price stays low?

I've been picking up a lot of Ike Davis. His base auto's are around 7 and I'd say he is the top first base prospect in the Mets Organization. Just can't seem to stop picking him up since he's so cheap...

still picking up clayton mortenson's from bcdp, elite, bow sterling if the price is right. some as low as .99 (minus shipping, of course) seems too good to pass up on although his price is creeping up a little. seems like he's overlooked from their pitching system with such kids like jess todd, chris perez, pj walter, jaime garcia but i think he's got good potential to make the team by 2010 as a starting pitcher

I was picking up a prospect from 2008 Prime Cuts, but after I got 12 copies, the prices are now over $20 per. I was getting them between $6-12 per, tops.

The prospect/card I was buying a bunch of was Austin Romine Blue Ref Autos for $40 and below. Until late, I couldn't believe a Yankee prospect with great projection and promise would sell for so little, especially blue refractors. Recently though, the ST invite news has shot them over $60 per now. I will stick with the 15 copies I have and be happy.

For a while for me it was Neftali Feliz, I bought probably 20 copies of either Leaf Limited, Contenders or Prime Cuts Autos /249, average was around $28 dlvd. These are all fairly limited and for a likely top 10 prospect in baseball it was just too good to pass up.

Ahrens - being a Jays prospect means he doesn't get a lotta love and he has great potential...his prices are nice and low

Matt Purke. I have 5 USA autos from 2008 and let me tell you this kid is a future first round pick. I have been picking up his autos from 5-7 a piece and that is a highway robbery price for this guy.

They used to be $100 when the product first came out. They've been slowly moving upwards from the low teens into low 20s.

99% of any Mariner of any era!
minus the biggies of course, but even then I have found great deals on Griffey's, Johnson's, A-Rod's even

But Mariners prospects are decently priced and most of the guys are dirt cheap
I have BLOWN up my Matt Hasselbeck collection and the most expensive card I got of his was a G/U Auto that is #'d /25 and got it for $25!
MOST of my G/U's came in at $.99 and I kid you not, this included some that were #'d /50 or LOWER!

They were not $100, I busted 11 cases of this product and I think early on they were in the 60-70 range then quickly moved down the $40 mark.
