Prestige hits streets next week as the first fully licensed NFL product of the year. Releasing just two weeks after the NFL Draft, each Rookie Card features updated team and draft information.

Officials at Panini America are proud to announce that 2009 Prestige will be released this year with no redemptions.

Hobby boxes will contain four game-used or autograph cards per box (with one autograph guaranteed), while eight of the 12 hobby boxes in a case will contain two autographs (on average).

The launch will again feature Prestigious Picks, cards featuring a swatch of game-used material from actual collegiate jerseys worn by players such as Josh Freeman, LeSean McCoy, Matthew Stafford and Mark Sanchez. NFL Draft Class returns featuring signed embroidered NFL Draft, NFL Shield, NFL Equipment and NCAA patches. Players signing for the set include Chris Wells, Darrius Heyward-Bey, Jeremy Maclin, Josh Freeman, Knowshon Moreno, LeSean McCoy, Mark Sanchez, Matthew Stafford, Michael Crabtree and Percy Harvin.

The Rookie Cards fall one per pack, with 10 RCs being short-printed.

Aside from the set looking super similar to last year's R&S and Threads base, looks good. You know, seems like most sets from DLP are pretty much the same but they do that one set pretty good. DLP make some of my favorite cards, but UD has caught up and will surpass them if they keep up the momentum they had during the second half of last year.

"No redemptions" are two of my favorite words to hear when I'm looking to buy cards.

I always like Prestige and usually pick up 1-2 boxes a season, and I'll be sure to get some this year again. +1 to my opinion/judgment of Panini.

this is particularly interesting because Panini did not rebrand the cards.

It is an indication that they will keep the donruss name.

Is it possible that this set was too far into production by the time Panini took over for them to rebrand them?

Either way, I don't care what name is on as long as the cards are of good quality. It would be weird buying "Panini Prestige".
