Please educate me. I know nothing about hockey cards.

I collect baseball only and have my entire life. I've been thinking about mixing things up a bit and picking up RCs of the all-time greats in other sports and need to know anything there is to know about the Gretzky RC. What is better Topps or OPC? What do I need to look out for? Anything and everything would be great. Thank you

OPC is his best rookie, less were printed than the topps. There are fakes and I'm sure some can tell you what to look for, I don't know myself, so I would recommend getting one that is slabbed. Not sure what your plan is with the all time greats theme but when it comes to hockey, like most sports, there are debates on who is/was the best all time. In Hockey the discussions usually revolve around 5 players:

Gretzky
Bobby Orr
Mario Lemieux
Maurice Richard
Gordie Howe

Not even Sidney Crosby or Alex Ovechkin???

I only have 2 hockey cards - '05-06 SP Authentic RC AUTO #/999 BGS10 Sidney Crosby & '06-07 The Cup 2PATCH / AUTO #/99 Wayne Gretzky.

Used to have hockey collection when I was a kid, but sold it cheaply because I wasn't into collecting hockey cards.

Just trying to raise alittle more money to buy a card of each Ovechkin and the Mario!

Here is some info on how to tell of a fake O-Pee-Chee Gretzky RC. The biggie is the print dot on his shoulder. All originals have this print dot.
