Please help me fix most aggervating thing on FCB

When i click a link in a thread,sig, etc it never opens a new tab but opens the link in the same tab. So when i get done viewing the link and X out from it FCB is gone.. yea i know i could just use the back button but this is the only forum that opens links like that, is there a setting to fix this? basically what i am asking is upon opening a link from FCB can i make open in a new tab instead of the current tab. Every other forum i visit is like this so it has to be possibly.. help :lol: :benson:

If nothing else, you can right click on the link and choose "Open in Another Tab."

If that's the most aggravating thing for you on FCB, then you're in pretty good shape.

Or you could hold down the "Ctrl" key on the keyboard before clicking any link, which will create a new tab for it. Problem solved. /thread

all good options but im old and a creature of habit.. is there a setting to change it somewhere for all external links to be opened in a new tab?

in Google Chrome CTRL + Click link = Open Tab in Background

Or instead of "X"ing out of it, just hit the back button to get back to FCB.

I've been thinking the same thing as the OP. Couldn't the admin fix this?

It has to be a forum setting somewhere for the admin to change. I agree, it is a tad frustrating.

for now ill try to get used to scroll wheel but this is only site that does that so i know its not my settings.. if its an easy fix great if not we will have to learn to deal with it..

It doesn't bother me one way or the other, but I'd think Gilmo would prefer not to drive traffic directly away from the site through links instead of keeping the site open and the link open in separate tabs.

Actually, I brought this up in the very first month of this site when Chris was looking for first impression suggestions. He hates pop-ups, so he ain't gonna change. It's like Steve Polychronopolous; deal with it.
