The Christmas season is closing in, and I wanted to do a little field research beforehand.

Please answer the poll and give any feedback/comments/etc if you'd like, or just remain anonymous in the pool. Much thanks to all who give input.

I put the NO - Nice gesture one....but then again I am not Jewish or follow any religion where it would be offensive, so I see that that could be the case for others.

It may be sad for some (and I could be wrong) but I honestly think that for many in this country "Christmas" itself has almost become it's own entity, where it is about the family/shopping/kind deeds thing and almost lost any religious connotation, or it at least has been overshadowed.

Though I suppose if it was me personally and I was unsure - I'd probably go with a "Season's Greetings" or something along those lines to be sure.

"Happy Holidays" is the politically correct term but who cares. I celebrate Christmas but if a Jewish person told me Happy Hanukkah I wouldn't be offended in the least.

Christmas is FAR from a religious Holiday in today's society. Saying Merry Christmas is as offensive as saying Happy Halloween. Almost everyone in this country celebrates Christmas unless they are Jewish, regardless of their religion.

Anyone who gets upset over the phrase is just looking for a reason to whine and cause a big fuss.

Most Jews i know celebrate christmas as a holiday to give gifts and get together. They may not believe in the divinity of Jesus, but hey Jesus was a Jew.

I tell you what send a package to
Pinetar
409 Grape Vine Trail
Oswego, IL. 60543
Write what ever you want on the outside of the package too.
And when it gets here and I see what you sent for free, then I will
will tell you if I'm offended or not. :D

Anyone who gets offended by the phrase "Merry Christmas" is a *******. Moreso, they are a ******* who is just looking for a reason to be offended.

I celebrate Christmas. I agree with those posts above about if someone said "Happy Hannakuh" to me, I would not be offended.

Regardless if you celebrate Christmas or are religious etc, if you get offended when getting a free package because it says Merry Christmas you should be beating with a hammer. These people who get offended are just trying to find something to be offended about.

I went with "No, it was meant as a nice gesture", but I could've also voted for "No, because I celebrate Christmas".
