I agree that Bowman will be the highest end stuff of a given player. However, it is MUCH easier for a card to go from $4 to $12 than it is for a chrome auto to go from $20 to $60.

This is absolutely true, but it still doesn't stop people from gobbling up Gold Refractors and thinking that they are a better investment than the same money spent on base.
