Poll: Pick the Super Bowl!

Pick, and give a reason why you think so!
I'm going with the Vikings and Jets. The Vikings showed up really well against a red hot Cowboys team and I don't think they're slowing down. The Jets, because I'm from NY and a Jets fan. Also, I think they've got more confidence in themselves than the Colts do.

Same here. Been a Jets fan since the mid 60's. Vikes have the firepower to outscore the Saints.

My predictions:

I will take the contrarian view and say the game will be decided by the two "other" units...the Colts defense and the Jets offense.

I would not be surprised, however, to see the Jets beat the Colts. (It was much easier being a Colts fan when they went 3-13 each year rather than 13-3!)


If the Saints can get out to a quick start, they should be able to hold off the Vikings. If they get behind early, New Orleans could be in trouble.

...and if the Colts lose along the way, I can always look forward Boston University (possibly) getting into the March Madness as a 15 seed!

I think the Saints vs Vikings matchup could end up being a better game than the Superbowl (IMO both of those teams just matchup exceptionally well & I look for it to be a close game). Though in the other game I look for the Colts to put a pretty hardcore arse-whoopin on the Jets. I chose the Colts/Vikings but it could just as easily be the Colts/Saints & I'd be just as excited! If Peyton gets hurt on the first snap (or early in the game), can't return to the game, & the Jets are then able to win the game due to "No-Peyton"...then the Superbowl matchup will then be changed to the PooperBowl matchup (as the Jets vs either Vikings or Saints would be an awfully shatty matchup..IMO guy's, IMO

I went with Colts-Vikes because I think both of the defenses are under-rated.

I think NY - Minn is the matchup I'd like to see the least. Though I have to admit, it would be funny to see the Jets beat Brett Favre in the super bowl.....that would probably rank up there with the more improbable sports scenarios/stories I've seen in my lifetime.

Sorry I'm not actually making a pick. The past few weeks all my picks have went to hell, so this week I'm not going to jinx things.
