Would Martinez be such a bad choice if he were reasonably priced? Note "reasonably priced" as I think this has alot to do with it. I'm not overly impressed with what seems to be the only other options at the moment. Who do you think would be the best choice of the options above. Feel free to explain who and why.

I'm still on the fence about this, but I'd chose either Neise or Martinez. Neise, because he's young and talented yet unseasoned and is an "if" right now. Martinez, because of his past career. Proven winner, very experienced which goes along way to helping a team win games whether on or off his game. Also didn't do so bad in the WBC.

I have to side with Pedro, out of that group. I do like Neise, and its almost not far to put in him that bunch since he is pretty much a rookie.

Pedro has the experience and knows what it takes to be good. Plus he is very compteitive of a player.

Garcia and Hernandez have been getting lit up. I was not happy with Garcia's cockyness, demanding to be a starter or he will go elsewhere. Then he goes out and gets dominated.

Redding ? Who, I knew this guy would be a no one. I wish we would have saved the money with these guys.

I would go with Niese or Freddie Garcia.

You know that logic dictates that it should be Pedro, but logic then also dictates that you'll need someone else to pitch when he is hurt. Therefore...avoid the guaranteed injury in Pedro and go with Niese or Garcia.

Niese for me. The Mets have enough quality arms in the rotation that they don't HAVE to have a vet in the #5 spot. Plus, it would be helpful for them to have a kid with less personality than some of those other players.

They already have enough personality in that clubhouse.
