Surprised by Crawford due to the high strikeout rate but I am a big supporter of promoting core players in clusters.

Bumgarner, Alderson, Crawford promoted to Double-A
Madison Bumgarner and Tim Alderson, the two top pitching prospects at Single-A San Jose, were told after tonight's game that they had been promoted to Double-A Connecticut.
The early promotion was expected. The organization believed them both to be above Class A level as the season began but wanted to keep them in the warmer weather early on.
The left-handed Bumgarner, just 19, is the Giants' top pitching prospect. In five San Jose starts he went 3-1 with a 1.48 ERA and four walks and 23 strikeouts in five games. Alderson was 1-1 with a 4.15 ERA, three walks and 20 strikeouts, also in five starts.
For now, 2008 top draft pick Buster Posey stays in San Jose. Vice president of baseball operations Bobby Evans said there were no discussions about advancing Posey yet. As a catcher, he has more to learn.
One position player will join the pitchers in the trek east: shortstop Brandon Crawford, the Mountain View native taken three picks after Posey last year. Crawford leads San Jose with a .374 average and also has six homers and 17 RBIs.
Evans said Alderson and Bumgarner will make their Connecticut debuts Sunday and Monday.

Guess I need sleep.....
Imagine alot of this has to do with all NL West teams other then Dodgers wanting to know what they got because it looks like all of them are going to be sellers:
Giants: Johnathan Sanchez or Matt Cain or Randy Johnson
Padres: Jake Peavy
D-Backs: Cluster of players
Rockies: Cluster of players

A week to late. Would have been nice if they were there for the pink jersey weekend. I would have loved to try to get one of those guys too.

By June, I will see Alderson, Bumgarner, Crawford, Henry Sosa, and possibly Posey in Trenton!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or, I might just take a freaking ride up to Conneticut lol!

In a way, I'm relieved they're gone. There was way too much hype with that SJ team and now maybe it will relax a little there. It was fun while it lasted though.

I'm not surprised they are making Posey work on catching more. He's one of the only catchers I've ever seen play who keeps his throwing hand right next to his glove. PUT IT BEHIND YOUR BACK!

The only question I have is why the hell is the Giants AA affiliate located in Connecticut? Can you have a more logistically inconvenient situation?

Hey, does anyone know how all three of them, Bum, Alderson and Crawford are when it comes to signing at games?? I'm going to the game against the Rock Cats on Monday and I was hoping I might be able to get some autos before the game.
