I sold a card on Ebay on Jan, 26 and shipped it the next day. The card sold for 180.00 I used Ebay shipping the way I always do. Yesterday the buyer contacted me and siad he did not receive the card and that he noticed that it was scanned in, left the PO and scanned again the same day at the larger PO up the highway. I looked and yest it was scanned twice on the 27th and has been missing since then. I replied to the buyer to give it some more time and I would get back with him in a few days. On a side note the other 2 cards I shipped the same day showed up on the 29th. He replied " no problem, I was just giving you the heads up in case it does not show, I did not want to blindside you". I know what that means. Since I used Tracking and ebay shipping, am I protected if it does not show up or should I just pay the guy back or maybe try and make a deal with him, I.E half and half.

Thanks

You are only covered if you purchased insurance. Also, I dont see how any buyer would accept a 50/50 split on a lost item.

I believe it has to actually show delivered for you to be covered. I've seen some wacky stuff happen this winter, so I wouldn't lose hope. Have you tried going to/calling the PO to see if they may be able to track it down?

Why does he need insurance? I thought paypal says you only need to insure items over $200 for seller protection? Also, I didn't realize it has to show "delivered" to be covered. What friggin good is that?!

Seller's obligation for the item to arrive not just ship. Insurance provides a means to recover a items value if lost in transit.

I went to the PO where I shipped it from and talked to them. They said they would contact the PO that was supposed to receive it and see if they know anything.

I just remembered that one of the three packages would not scan for the PO attendant and he had to punch in the tracking numbers by hand. I really hope that is not the package that would not scan. I could totally see the delivery mailman not punch in the numbers and just leave it.

Anything over $200 needs to be signed for. If you send an item and it is lost without insurance you are SOL. I had a jacket go missing & I ended up losing the jacket & the sale.

I believe your covered under PayPal / eBay as far as if it's delivered & the buyer says they never got it you good. But if a package is lost or damaged without insurance your screwed

Where are you and where did the package go?

Tons of awful weather. Could be backlogged in a box somewhere

It shipped in Kentucky and was going to NC. The other two cards I shipped with it made it in two days to their final destination.

If this was the case you wouldn't see any scans for the package. You said it went from one town to the next. Which means it's being scanned. Even if the mailman were to not scan the item at the delivery point there would still be as many as 3 scans from the delivery office on the day it was sorted and sent out for delivery. I've had a package disappear for 4 weeks before only to be found and eventually delivered. So don't lose hope.

I'd probably contact any card/pawn stores in the Lexington KY area and see if they've seen your card. My best guess is it was stolen by a plant worker or truck driver there and sold locally if it's not on Ebay or a similar site. If your really mad as I would be I'd call the postal inspection service and tell them your story. Your probably not the first person this happened to in that area or if you are they maybe able to stop this from happening again. There's no place for crooks at the USPS. Sorry man mean people suck. Hope you get resolution somehow
