Possible trade between WAS/TOR/CBJ in the works?

I was reading through the comments on Tarik El-Bashir's (Capitals beat writer) blog this morning and saw some interesting comments that prompted me into doing some research.

Apparently...

Columbus has been in "serious" trade talks with the Capitals about Defenseman Karl Alzner that would also involve another team. That team is rumored to be Toronto. Alzner would go to Columbus, Tomas Kaberle to Washington, and the rest I can't seem to figure out. Alzner is also a scratch tonight. Media in both Columbus & Toronto have confirmed these reports.

Also if that doesn't go down, the Blue Jackets could move either Raffi Torres or Jason Chimera to Washington for Milan Jurcina or Shaone Morrison.

The Caps would be stupid to move Alzner. Interesting stuff here, thoughts or any more information?

hmmm interesting. and i agree Washington would be crazy to get rid of Karl Alzner. They have to be patient with him, D-men usually take a bit longer to develop.

Chimera's not a defenseman, he's a Left Wing.

He's -7, averages about 30ish points a year... I don't like this trade at all.

i know, just worded it bad. he better be a good defensive foward.

but they dont have to pay clark 2 mill next year plus Jurcina was a Free Agent next year.

how does this affect do to the locker room?

were there problems with Clark and his teammates? maybe a lack of leadership?

Apparently quite a bit. Why else would we lose to the worst team in the NHL 6-3?

I've honestly never heard of a single problem between Clark & a teammate, let alone anyone on the Capitals in general (unless its playing time cough cough Theo cough cough)

Definitely a head shaker. Chimera is a decent 3rd or 4th line player but he's nothing special.
