The patch is part of the overall card, though, and they're grading the card. It's obviously been tampered with.

Unfortunately, I don't think PSA is liable in this situation. They clearly state what they do, and that is slab the card as authentic, not the patch. It's a catch-22.

Yes. But if this were to come out in the media in a nice sized and well covered story, it would really drop PSA's pants on the issue. Show a lot of the hobby what PSA really is: nothing more than an opinion. Too many people think because something is graded, then its got to be real. This couldn't be further from the truth. So lets knock the lid off of that and let people know whats really going on. When it comes down to it, PSA doesn't do a damn thing that anybody else couldn't do except put their label on the grade. That is it. I think they kind of rely on people to just herd in like sheep because of a false belief system. It needs to stop.

Another thought. Why is he waiting til tomorrow at midnight to delete the video? If it's causing him that much trouble, why not just delete it now?

These cards are never going to be sold. I have no interest in doing anything but stare at them with my son. If some are fake,then the artist who created them did a fine job and I enjoy the art of it. I collect these cards because I like them, remember those days guys. I collect to put a smile on my? face and my sons, not to make money or scam someone. i graded them to protect them for the future. They are beautiful now, and will be beautiful in 50 years. Thanks for all your "genuine" concern.

Well I finally broke down and watched part of the video. To me, it's laughable to think that any of the cards labeled "Authentic Game-Worn Jersey" that contain a full window patch are real. At least now I know who paid $200+ for the faked Jack Morris /218. I think there is a chance a few of the cards have not been altered. However, most of the "wow" patches are most definitely altered.

At least now I know who paid $200+ for the faked Jack Morris /218. I think there is a chance a few of the cards have not been altered. However, most of the "wow" patches are most definitely altered.

I think there's a good chance a few of them are legit. I believe I saw a dual logoman sitting in front of one of the rows, and I believe the there was a Phillies patch that he said something to the effect of 'this is just a boring patch' that looked authentic. I found it ironic that of all the cards he showed, the only one that looked to be authentic was one he had a negative remark about.

It's pretty clear that this guy is far more concerned with the visual appeal and 'wow factor' associated with these cards than any actual authenticity. While I think most of us would strongly disagree with this line of thought, I guess in some respects it isn't much different than the people that keep autopenned or secretarial autographs in their collections, and insist that the signatures are authentic, even if significant evidence indicates otherwise.

My thing is that the guy is all preachy now about how he has the cards for his enjoyment only, but the entire video is about how much better than everyone else he is because of his collection. Yeah, people are rough, but he needs to thicken his skin, brother. People were doing to him what he does to people (according to his video). His collection was shot down like he does to so many others, and now he's the poor guy getting picked on.

I also find it interesting that his contact email he gives is attached to a store based in North Carolina, yet (as someone ahead of me pointed out) he says he's in Arizona.

All jokes aside, if you're going to post this video on YouTube, you should put the name Kevin Burge and all his aliases in there. This way, if you were to search fake patches, or shoelessjoejackson, Kev Burge will pop up along with it. He laughs at all the people that hes ripped off, might as well give it back to him. I don't collect patches or anything so I don't know of any other notable fakers out there, but they should be linked or typed in the description also.

Thanks for the heads up about PSA's grading fake patches, I really didn't know this. I don't dabble much in them (because of all the fakers you guys point out) but would have bought one graded by PSA.

Lesson learned.
