Would not be surprised if someone on here has one as well but this is my best entry:

I love seeing this card! Still one of the coolest stories around on obtaining it, thanks for sharing the process when you went through it.

Casey

Thanks Casey. I have to admit it was a lot of fun. I plan on attempting to get Bobby and Jeff to sign their 1981 WTF cards in the coming weeks to join the signed Ripken WTF I have.

gracecollector- i was going to start the thread off with my copy of this...

img127.jpg

1037/2500 (i also had the sosa but i believe i traded it to cody ffgameman)

Sweet! Haven't seen another one in about 9 years. Mine's #1116. If you ever want to get rid of it, think of me. I've seen a Sandberg, wonder if that's all of them?

Can comeone tell me about these? I've never seen one before, and if Brad has seen a Sandberg, that's yet another card I have to add to the hunt.

I'm going off memory, but I got mine from a dealer in 1997 or 1998 at a Chicagoland card show. He told me that he got the ones he had from the guy who created them and who had hoped to get them licensed by MLB, but didn't get approval. They are hand serial numbered on back out of 2500 (the 2,500 is printed, but the individual number is hand written). They have no identifying manufacturer information or copyright. They are a slide material in the middle, if you hold it up to the light you see a color image of the player. The design and typography are horrible (just bad color combinations and ugly fonts with too many font styles). I'm 99% sure I saw a Sosa and a Sandberg at the time I bought mine. Here's a back scan:

Thanks, Brad! Though they're not eye candy, it would be a cool piece to have.

If anybody has this card I'll eat my shoe... in fact if anybody out there has any card of any player from this set I'll send them something.

This is one of the advantages of collecting a player that no one else has the good taste to collect ! :-)
