2009 UD Ballpark has some of the worst, most weirdest pairings in the dual, triple, quad swatch department.

I thought it'd be fun to find the most asinine.

I'll start with a small one (I've seen much worse):

I think I saw a Kerry Wood "Emerging Stars."

EDIT: Yep, this was pretty bad. 8 swatches with emerging stars Wood, Holliday, Huston Street and Nick Swisher. ::facepalm::

And Wood is an emerging star in a Cubs uni... ::facepalm::

This is a great thread...I've seen some tulo pop up and I have no clue how he was paired with the players he was paired with.

2 contenders for the worst pairing here...
Fielder and Papelbon as emerging stars ? Aren't they stars already ???
Fielder as NL star is fine...Blalock ? Maybe 5 years ago but now with 25-66-.234 with .277 OBP you're not a star anymore !

Ballpark is a joke product, why does anyone buy it? It's chock full of worthless jersey cards and a handful of piss poor autographs. The only decent pulls are buttons and tag patches which can be had for less than the price of a box usually.

the jersey set(s) look like UD opened up their vault and looked to see who's jerseys they had on the top of the piles, then failed in an attempt to come up with a reason to put them together, then just go with the pairing anyways.

And nevermind the fact that Liriano hasn't been a "star" since 2006, and Zito's never really been an "NL" Star!

I just can't believe that with all of the GU in this set, there aren't any patches!?!?

UD should just stick to making Hockey cards, they seem to do a good job when there is no competition!

I believe that would fall under the "Cracked Body Part" pairing...Williams' frozen head and Beltre's nut!

So far all I could come up with is both of their names have vowels.

Seattle Mariners initials are "SM" and Boston Red Sox are "BR"

BR is in BeltRe's last name and SM is in WilliaMS last name. Coincidence? I think not.
