The Ken Boyer mention is perfect for the topic. Star of his era, mostly forgotten by boards like this who know a lot about current baseball, and very little about the past.

Listened to "The Boys of Summer" on CD Audio Books recently, and couldn't get over how much teammates Pee Wee Reese, Duke Snider, and Carl Furillo raved about Billy Cox at 3rd base. Never saw him play, didn't know anything about him, haven't ever seen him in a modern card set, but the book made me look him up and he seems like a player that shouldn't be forgotten.
