Canseco has to be on there.

And yeah Pin, that list was put together by someone who has a hard-on for the
Red Sox, Cubs, Yankees, and Dodgers.

How do you not have Canseco on there???? Personally I think he would be the poster boy.......the rest he outed on his own.

Palmiero needs to be added to that list as well as Manny.

But, just for fun, maybe you could make a poster using Sosa's Michael Jackson Look...

TK

You're right. Canseco needs to be on there, but I don't know that I could take anyone else off my original poster, so I guess five will have to fit. If there was a single player on the poster, it would have to be Canseco. The main reason I don't associate Canseco with steroids is because he hasn't hidden himself when he discusses it. With everyone else, it is this hush-hush topic that is never to be mentioned.

As far as the Red Sox fans that hate the Yankees, and Yankees fans that hate the Red Sox...we get it. We know where you stand. We know you like to point the finger at each other.

I dont know, I might change my answer to Sosa for an anti-doping poster showing kids what steroids can do to your complexion....better yet was his answer saying it was skin cream---where did he get that from Mr. Bonds???

He has a valid point....there is truth and facts that more than just Manny used from the championship Red Sox Teams....

Though I dont think the steroids is what got them the championship, multiple users from those teams

TK

Then show me a team that wan a World Series that does not have a known are supposed steroid user on it.
2005 Chicago White Sox. The only one rumored was Contreras (on a list with no real credibility anyways), who was a Yankee at that time. Unless I'm missing something. I can't say for certain that nobody did of course, but nobody has been officially confirmed.

Agreed about "officially" confirmed...we will never ever know the extent of doping in baseball.......IMO since it wasnt tested and no one really cared, it was VERY RAMPANT from the 60s-early 2000s....so safe bet, even though we may not know about it, there were more than like multiple dopers on every team in that timeframe, and it is not just baseball....football, Hockey, Wrestling (well any olympic sport really), Basketball...all of them.

There has never been a team probably since the early 1900s that has not had some sort of user on it....and I am talking last place teams to first place teams....

Never said that it WON the sox the championship, I was just saying for argument sake, he has a point in making that statement.

TK

Sure every era has had some sort of "user" on it, but the OP was talking about the steroid era.

In my humble opinion , M.Rivera should be listed as the reason the Yankees won those years.

Dude, seriously. Jeter has NEVER been linked to steroids and Rodriguez was not on the team in '96, '98, '99 or '00. And why are you ignorantly saying that no Red Sox player has done PEDs when they clearly did. Stop ignoring facts and acting like a hypocrite. The Red Sox championships are just as tainted as any Yankees championship in the steroid era.

the dude with the manny and ortiz needle sig is an idiot, he doesnt realize the yankees won because of steroids and the red sox won because of skill, yankees took the world series from us in 99 because all yankees were on steroids, again they did it to us in 03

You do realize that Yankees didn't win in 03 right? ::facepalm::

Why is it that EVERY thread that attempts to discuss any player on the Yankees or Red Sox, about any issue, ends up like this?

Steroid Era Poster Boys (in order of relevance of steroid use)

1. Jose Canseco (started the whole steroid era and started the "outing")
2. Ken Caminiti (first baseball player to possibly die from the effects)
3. Mark McGwire (took PEDs to the next level)
4. Sammy Sosa (tried to one-up McGwire)
5. Barry Bonds (followed them all and got the last laugh and the most hate)

I'd definitely go with the names on your list, but would list them in order of decending current fame (and not popularity BTW). Most people don't know who Caminiti was (and he also took some other additional illicit substances)

That's why I said "relevance of steroid use". Clearly in terms of popularity, my list would have been in a different order. Ken Caminiti's heart was so weakened by steroid use that it had a major role in his heart failure, in addition to his drug use.

Eric...the only one on that list who I'm not extremely confident of usage is Jeter, and Ryan and Ripken would be too brutal for the masses to take...but I don't doubt it for a second...especially Ryan.

Bret Boone, David Bell and probably Adrian Beltre.

They all had monster "contract years" and got huge $$$ that off-season then crashed and burned that following season.
