Hey guys. I thought I would pop over here and throw this out there. I've never collected hockey before, but I have been thinking about starting to collect the Columbus Blue Jackets. I'm originally from Cincinnati, so Columbus is close enough.

I have always wanted a Gretzky RC, auto, and a nice patch for my PC. He's all I know about hockey. The reason for my new found interest is there are some absolutely sick hockey cards out there. Maybe one of these days I can actually learn more about the game.

 Will do. I appreciate the welcome.

I'm not a complete moron or anything. I enjoy going to hockey games. It's always a lot of fun and who doesn't enjoy drinking some beers and seeing some fights?

I am a fan of all sports, just not very knowledgable about some (i.e. hockey  ). I will have to start checking eBay and see if I can't land me a couple nice cards to get me going.

You'll find out soon enough that the hockey side of the hobby is a vastly different beast. You'll have alot of fun though and we welcome another into the brood.

Thanks a lot for the welcome guys.

I am a collector. I don't prospect and I don't worry about value. I collect what I want. So I'm not wanting to get into this for money purposes. I have just been intriqued seeing a lot of the great cards that Dave (pgh) keeps posting and it drew me in.

I've been thinking about it for awhile, so I decided it was time to go ahead and jump in.

I just made the jump a few months ago, and really can't wait til I get a job so I can put more money into Hockey.

As much as I hate UD, they do a great job with their hockey products. And frankly, baseball products have been boring me lately.

I've been paying more attention to hockey this year, so it makes collecting a lot more fun too. I really can't wait til some of the other products come out early next week.

If you have the urge to break, even dig back into last years products. I really dug SP Authentic last year, and Artifacts was good to me too.

Good luck with Hockey, you'll enjoy it!

Joe- awesome dude! I grew up watching and playing hockey and absolutely love the game. Having said that, my very first set that got me into collecting cards was 1980 Topps, the cards with the black scratch-off spots. I just recently starting collecting an old Sabre favorite of mine, Gilbert Perreault and I have a thread about what I've picked upso far. I agree with what some of you guys are saying... there are some sick sick hockey cards out there. Welcome to the hockey bunch, Joe! :D

BTW, I owned a Gretzky auto one time but sold it to fund the Ult Sig set. Wish I hadn't now. :(
