I thought this could be fun :)
Since the Nba Pre-season is officially underway I just wanted to see how many people we can get to post their pre-season predictions for some category's. I will Bump this back up during the playoffs and after the Finals.

Who's your MVP for 09-10 season? This one is tough as I see Wade playing very well this year but will go with Lebron James.

Who's your defensive player of the year for 09-10 season? Again this one was tough for me as I see KG being a defensive force all season but Dwight Howard is younger and getting better so i go with Dwight Howard.

Who's your Rookie of year for 09-10 season? Im going to go with Stephen Curry

Who's your Break out player for the 09-10 season? (This is a very subjected question so when I mean Break out it could be someone who was injured and came back stong or someone who had a bad year and came back strong, veteran or Newby, Ect.Ect.) Gilbert Arenas

Who wins the Western confrence in 09-10 season? Portland Trailblazers :)

Who wins the Eastern confrence in 09-10 season? Boston Celtics

What team ends up with the best overall record in the regular season? Boston again!

Who is your suprise/break out team for the 09-10 season? LA Clippers

What 2 teams will make it to the finals and who wins? Boston Celtics vs New Orleans Hornets and ofcourse Boston wins!

If anyone wants to add any please feel free or let me know and I can add it to the list above.

Blazers winning the west is bold but could definitely happen if Benjamin button lives up to his potential.

Good game for him last night, for whatever that is worth.

Lot of Boston optimism despite the fact that KG hasn't practiced at full speed yet.

which eastern conference team got significantly better? Cleveland is maybe a little better, but not much. Orlando got worse. Chicago probably makes another step forward with Rose improving, but they lost Gordon who absolutely killed the Celtics last year. I can see questioning the title picks, but unless KG can't play at all or Rondo/Pierce/Allen go down I find it hard to find a better team in the east.

The best team in the east got better though, also a lot of people sleeping on the Raptors, they added some good pieces. If KG is not 100% healthy the celtics will go nowhere. Pierce is not a player that can carry a team by himself, no matter if he thinks he is the best player on the planet.

Which is the best team in the East? Cleveland? I'll agree they got better, but not by much. They're still very flawed with no one on that team to help Lebron offensively.

Also, with the addition of Wallace and the emergence of Glen Davis as a viable option, the Celtics have the ability to slowly work KG back into form and also keep him well rested during the season. I also think Daniels is a good addition since the Celtics lack scoring when Pierce or Allen come out.

I'm also expecting another step forward from Rondo and Perkins.

If KG is healthy there is no doubt in my mind that Boston is the best team in the East and most likely the most complete team in the NBA, but without him 100% they drop to 5-6 for me(behind Lakers/Cavs/Spurs/Orlando, in no order).

I think even if he's lost a step but feels and plays healthy they are still right there at the top. If it's a nagging injury where he plays in pain and is slowed it will be an issue. The thing is you could name players on each of those teams that could have injury concerns that would kill their teams hopes. We haven't seen Jameer fully healthy yet for Orlando, and losing Turkoglu and swapping Carter for Lee they will need him. Duncan and Ginobili seem to get injured for some stretch every year. The improvement Cleveland made was getting a very big, and very old shaq. No one talks about it, but Kobe probably has more miles on his body than almost anyone in the NBA and is reaching the age where we could start seeing similar breakdown to what we've seen with Duncan and Garnett.

I agree with most points, I think Carter was a offensive upgrade that the Magic needed though, Glu was good, but we saw what happened when a athletic type guarded him, he couldn't get good shots.

I think Guards honestly mature/age differently then the big guys. Think Kobe has 2-3 years before he shows signs of being OLD. He is in the MJ mold. Could just be the homer in me though.

I think losing Turkoglu and Lee and adding Carter is a wash at best and probably hurts the team. Of course if Nelson comes back and plays the way he did to start the season last year then it won't matter, but I think that's the argument being made about KG.

I agree that big men break down earlier than guards, and everything I've read says Kobe does everything he can to stay in the best shape possible. I hope he does stay healthy because the things he can do on the court are amazing. I'm just saying he has extra miles for his age because he came out of high school. He's played a lot of playoff basketball and had to carry his team offensively and defensively at times. He's also played in the olympics and qualifying tournaments, so that is just some extra miles on the knees. He could last like MJ, but i wouldn't be surprised to see him start to break down a bit.

Good Arguments Guys. I am not 100% sure but when I checked the Celtics web site I think they are now going full speed. As for big man breaking down early KG to me is a very unusual Big man in that he has an extreme amount of energy (More than any big man I have ever seen) and really has to work on toning it down. Sometimes I think he tones it down to much . I like him better when the coach gives him the full green light. Yes he does some crazy things http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IT8qLg2NjnQ but I like him better when he doesnt bottle up his energy as it energizes the whole team. With that said I think he will come back better than ever as he has had lots of rest and apperently that injury has been bothering him for a long time (Even before he came to Boston). His body and legs did not take the full toll of the Nba season and now that the nagging injury is gone (According to him) and the fact that he has dropped about 10lbs-15lbs I see him being a little quicker and with more spring in his step. Obviously he is Older and father time can take your legs at any time but I think he has a good 2 more very productive year ahead of him. I for one cannot wait till the regular Season tip off!!

That was accually my choice before Portland. I think the Hornets and Portland are going to be 2 teams no one will expect to be Championship bound.

I for some reason, is not on the Hornets band wagon. Yes they have Chris Paul, but nothing else scares me about them. They do have my boy Bobby Brown on the team though.

I don't post "predictions", I post facts. Well, except for the break out player award. I couldn't think of anyone good off the top of my head that hasn't already been mentioned.

What do you think of Frank Robinson?

I missed the Hawks' preseason game  , so I haven't seen him play yet. I've only seen highlight videos of him in Germany and he looks great, but then again, they're highlight videos which of course would only show him do well.

Now here's my 'Wehttam6 persona' response:
Well, he's great enough to be on the Hawks right now, so he must be a beast. The only thing stopping him from getting ROY is Jeff Teague. 8-)
I hope he's just as good as basketball as he was at baseball. ;)
