It's been like that for my Diamond Kings /50, too. The first one hit a $30 BIN, and I laughed. The next two went over $60. The last one finally ended under $20, but I'm convinced that's the one that will cost me the most.
I blame Russ.

New Product + Player Collector = Crazy Prices
Super Collectors have to have the first ones that hit the market.
If you happen to get the players jersey number, 1/*** or say 50/50 etc, you might make even more $$$.

Couldn't have said it better myself.
Some of the recently released low numbered inserts from Threads, Sports Legends, & Prime Cuts are getting crazy money right now. I'll just be patient, and wait my turn.

BUNGLE: I can only wish I was the cause....

Same here. There are 2 Clark collectors that will bid $50 on a $30 card when it comes out. Then after they get their copies, everyone else is in at 1/3 to 1/2 book.

That same card will not bring 10 a year from now. People always go crazy on new releases. It pays big time to be patient. There is a Sterling 3
#'d/50 up tonite and its at 70+, this same card will not get a bid at 10 a year from now. I push on low num, bered stuff or fantastic patches but wait my turn on /25 or over.

The depressing thing is a Ripken card /50 in 1998 would have gone for $200+ easy. Now $27 for that same scarcity is shocking to some. Oh how the hobby has changed...

Big difference comparing the 2. In '98 there weren't alot of products WITH low numbered cards.
Now EVER product has parallels.
