Printing plate question

Sorry if this is a dumb question...but most of the prospect autos have the same image as the base so why are their 2 sets of printing plates. Could they not use the original 4 printing plates and do something to the finish for where the auto are placed instead of using 2 separate plate pairs. Just wondering.

Chrome and Non-Chrome each have a set of plates.

Hmm, never really thought about that! Just a way to cram more 1-of-1s into a product, I guess. They're still cool things to pull in a pack, though.

Here's a Chrome and Regular Bowman. Different printing processes so one is reversed.

Also the logos are different, one has "Bowman" logo and other has "Bowman Chrome" on the cards.

agreed, was just commenting on the OP statement of the original 4 printing plates , they typically just take the last set which are also in the best condition (less used)
