Assuming price will be low, count me in.

Every vault item has sold well for me, even benchwarmers an d inkworks and I don't carry those lines.

Thinking outside the box is good for the hobby, something topps can't do.

But it comes down to value for this type of product.

If its a hundred plus, no good.

Unlike non sports where a seth macfarlane or carmen elektra auto is valued no matter when it comes out of a product, a 6 yr old minor lge product will be filled with failed prospects.

Where would your business be without Topps? Biting the hand that feeds you is never a good idea. Topps is, will be & always has been the #1 producer of trading cards on the planet. Hard to imagine a shop existing on Leaf alone (or even trying to lol).

Without doing any research, I would think panini is the biggest company out there.

I wouldn't want to rely on any one company to stock my store but it isnt just topps who has made the hobby what it is.

From fleer to ud to score to sportflics etc etc, nealy every major company has shaped the hobby what it is now.

Based upon the direct cost that I've seen, I think it's safe to assume that minimum retail will be $100 per box, but more likely to be $110-120.

Just wanted to share a few thoughts before I head out for the holiday weekend....

- As many of you now, Just Minors ceased its trading card operations some time ago. This is the final disposition of these assets. As you may also know, Scott Jordan (President of Just Minors pre-2012) works for Leaf. Therefore, Leaf is pleased to be able to be a part of the disposition of these assets.

- This product is NOT for everyone. Just Minors appealed to a nice group of collectors for their simplicity and afforadability. What is frustrating in this hobby is the general lack of tolerence for allowing people to collect what they want without being crapped on via message board. I can appreciate that many of you will find no value here, however many collectors still to this day collect cards form past releases and many will find never released and very hard to find cards in this launch. I am not asking you not to be criticial (as that would be fruitless ayways), but I am asking you to vote with your wallet. If you dont like it, dont buy it. If you do like it, do buy it.

- To clarify a few misinterpretations in this thread:
(a) the memorabilia redemptions are NEWLY created and will be inserted into the boxes along with the single cards/bonus cards. These are not old redemptions that were previously circulated.
(b) the player selection is not limited to the 2007 checklist. The box containg 12 autographs is clearly limited to those cards, but the 10 bonus cards can be form a vast variety of releases (including many rare/never seen cards!)
(c) this release is NOT a cash grab for Leaf... It is merely a low margin means for disposing of these assets in a creative manner

The bottom line:
BUY IT IF YOU LIKE IT, DO NOT BUY IT IF YOU DONT LIKE IT

I can assure you there are many collectors who will find value in a release like this. Will everyone? Hell no... But, not "everyone" finds value in mainstream prspect items like Bowman Draft either.

Happy Holiday weekend...
BG

p.s.- to Jeff, I am not trying to be Topps, Upper Deck or Panini.. I find it more profitable and quite easy to sleep at night with the more creative model we have. I dont like repacks anymore than some of you do, but the customers have voted with their wallets and overwhelmingly have shown more than adequate support for them.

Wow, I thought this was a joke thread also.
You could probably buy the entire 50-card autographed Just Autos set on eBay, individually, for less than the $100 or whatever a box sells for.
Many of those prospects from 2007 are out of baseball now, and most of those cards can be bought for a buck each on eBay.
But as BG just wrote, buy 'em if you like 'em, don't if you don't.

You are missing the facts..

The list posted are the autos that come on the sealed 2007 box.. There are 10 bonus cards (8 autos and 2 low #) per box that include the pictured cards on sell sheet as examples... Many of these low numbered still sell for good money..

Interesting way to sell off stock......better than a big seller or two ending up with all of the stock and then liquidating on ebay.

I never wrote that the 50-card Just Auto set are the only cards you could receive in the box.
I just mentioned that you could buy the 50 individual autographed cards from that particular set for less than a box, since most players are a buck or less and the only "stars" from that set are Mark Reynolds and Johnny Cueto.
I'm aware of the other Just cards and low-numbered cards included.

Oh yeah, the hobby needed a repack 2007 Just Minors product.

I thought you "ignored" me?

I wasn't speaking of this product, but repacks in general..

And as calfas said, I bet collectors would rather are the product distributed this way.,

I kind of agree that this is a bad idea, not only for the legitimacy of LEAF but for the hobby in general.

I, obviously, have zero interest in this product like many/most, but the real question here is....

Just because something sells (from a distributor) does that make it good? I'm not so sure. As it has already been pointed out, 2007 Just is a all but worthless product that contains 99% failed prospects even the cards of now MLB players are worth significantly less than anything else out there, but that's just taking in to account value. Even from a collectors side, this is a set filled with a majority of busted 'never to see MLB' players. Who is going to build the set now?

Granted BG has said some new cards/autos are going to be interjected in this failed (2007 Just) product to enhance value and demand, but even BG (not in as many words) acknowledged that this was just a means to rid themselves of a overstock of all but worthless cards. I can simply see no reason something like this needs to be a product, let alone a product that costs $100 and will inevitably make LEAF money.

The only way to stop this kind of unnecessary product in the hobby is to, as BG says, speak with your wallet. The only way to keep this kind of product off the block is to simply let it sit in LEAF's garage and go unsold.

Mind you, I am all for variety and could care less about licensing, but really? 2007 Just? 2007 Just buybacks?? ~$100 a box???

For everyone buying this, I have a hell of a deal for you!!!!!

I am now offering in limited quantities (only 5000 cases, 24 box per case) 1988 Topps buy back boxes!!!

I actually need quite a few no-name yankee autos from Just sets that dont pop up much because quite frankly they are worthless. But maybe they will now. I've been hard on some Leaf products before, but I dont see anything wrong with this. Am I going to buy boxes? No. But I am glad that maybe some more singles will hit the market.
