Im not expecting a lot of people to respond but who knows. Just looking for some cheap prospects who's base chrome auto's are $10 or under. I dont care if its a long or short term investment. No Brad Hands. Any suggestions?

No offense, but Brad Hand would be a perfect long term investment. He has been having a much better year this year opposed to the high ERA he turned out at the beginning of last year. Mind if I ask why no Brad Hand?

I agree..Brad Hand is low risk guy.. for under 10$ your going to have to reach a little..all he has to do is just a little to turn some $$$..dont think these will ever be 50$ cards but...

Allow me to suggest Michael Burgess. He's an interesting case being one of THE autos to get when 2007 Draft came out. He fell out of favor with collectors after a couple horrid seasons strikeout wise. He has enormous power potential and is still widely regarded as one of the Nationals top prospects and if he does happen to realize that potential while cutting down on his strikeouts then he could see a huge improvement. Another factor at play here is the amount of publicity the Nationals will be getting within the next 2-3 years with Strasburg and possibly Bryce Harper. That certainly can't hurt Burgess either.

That being said, I'm still quite jaded on Burgess. I bought 12 base autos upon release :benson: for $35-40, bought refractors for 50 and x-fractors for 60. Sold them all when I got out of the hobby for about a year and now I"ve been buying back in. It's just so hard for me to watch base autos go for 5-6 bucks, refractors for 10, xfractors for 15-18 and blue refs for 24-27.

Burgess has a huge gaping hole in his swing. Unless it gets fixed he probably won't play in the majors at all. It is as bad as the numbers indicate.

Justin Jackson still has all kinds of tools. His chances of making it are probably at their lowest but his 2007 Draft Auto can be had for $1.

He has shortened up his swing significantly from last year to now resulting in a far less K% to this point. The tradeoff, of course, is that he seemingly has lost all power. Who knows if he'll make it or not but at 5.05 for a PSA-9 base auto, I'm willing to take that chance at least.

There are better risks out there, and a PSA 9 chrome shouldn't be worth anything more than a raw copy.
