Hey guys, I have been wondering this for a while. Its like one touches look nice but I want to know about there protection. Because i know there is some slop in the gap between the card and the holder and could it hurt the card with normal use? Also, Then again if one touches were so good why wouldn't BGS use those instead of a pennie sleeve and case? I like both but I use toploaders and pennie sleeves alot more.

BTW: I also cut the upper corner so that the card doesn't touch it when I slid it in the penny sleeve.

Penny Sleeve, top loader, team bag stored vertical in a sturdy box...your good to go.

For me, "one-touch" holders have too much "play" in them and can rattle the edges/corners, but the majority of collectors seem to use them. They certainly display better...but long term storage...I'd always go the top loader route.

I'm the same way the only cards i have in onetouches are my set because they look nice and i use the ultrapro ones with the least slop. But for my high end cards I def use the toploaders.

one touches have scared me with chrome cards, because I fear surface scratches.
pennysleeve/toploader scares me because people don't seem concerned with the tiny corner peeling/knicking that comes with careless inserting. Please, for the love of cards, use CUT CORNER pennysleeves!
It's currently my biggest pet peeve in the hobby. Needless, senseless corner knicks, especially on the backs, of chrome and foil cards.

I'd feel great with one touches if there were 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 sheets of pennysleeve material on each side.

I cut all my penny sleeves on the upper corner so it doesn't touch the corner or hurt it in any way.

If anyone needs one-touch holder team bag let me know. It fits perfectly. You can use the graded team bag but its one size too big.

If it fits in a normal toploader I'll usually do that. If it's a thicker card I do the magnetic one touch. I have found myself worrying less and less about toploaders and one touches all together and just using sleeves unless it's really valuable. As a player collector I don't worry about condition as much, and will just penny sleeve gu/thicker cards and store them vertically in a 4 row box.

I have every size you can think of in toploaders so that i know the card fits just right.

One touch, with cut out corners all the way. Never seen anything damaged from one. I just don't like the penny sleeve fit into top holder all that much on real valuable cards. I've seen where plastic on penny sleeve can get tight and stick to a glossy type chrome card and leave marks. Or where the penny sleeve may some tiny tiny spec in it and then leave a dent in the card.

High $ cards belong in Slabs. Not only for their protection, but if there ever comes a time that the card needs to be sold via the internet, it's the best way to do so, hands down.

Scanning raw cards for myself, has to be done in one-touches, because continuity is everything, imo.
not much uglier than seeing a group of someones pc scans, and there are vastly different croppings/scan sizes/etc.

For storage purposes, toploaders and ultra-pro 9-pocket sheets are best, imo.

The one thing that sucks with one touches, if not sealed in a graded team bag, is they break open if dropped. I dropped one several weeks ago on my kitchen floor and the card went flying out and got dinged. I was lucky it was only a $40 card.
