I use screwdowns/magnetics for my higher end game used. Why? Because if you use the ones with recessed corners, you can put a penny sleeve on the card so none of the edges will touch the holder. You have to cut the bottom off the sleeve and get a little creative. They also prevent creases better. It's hard to do with thin cards because the sleeve would be easily noticeable.

The one thing that sucks with one touches, if not sealed in a graded team bag, is they break open if dropped. I dropped one several weeks ago on my kitchen floor and the card went flying out and got dinged. I was lucky it was only a $40 card.

it matters what kind you use, some have a stronger magnet than others, the pro mold ones i get i have dropped a few times and they never open up

If anyone needs one-touch holder team bag let me know. It fits perfectly. You can use the graded team bag but its one size too big.

What size is that and where can I find some? All my local guy carries is regular team bags. I just slide the one-touches in there but that mostly to keep the one-touch from getting scratched. I hate scratched one-touches!

I use one touches for really high dollar cards or autographs.Everything else goes in toploaders.I just don't like the feel of a penny sleeve after its had a card in it for years.I am afraid it will screw up the autos.Of course I could be wrong.

I could swear I had a couple absolute jumbos that weren't creased when I got them and got a bit bent after I store them in top loaders. You can't bend the screwdowns/magnetics.

I use the 1-touch whenever possible and I team bag each one as well. I do use toploaders but more often I'll use the 1 touch when I have them. As for the cards moving around in there.. well, they're baseball cards. They certainly aren't going to make me rich nor any family it gets passed down to, being gem mint is never something I care about. I don't toss them around all the time and most of the time they're in a shoebox so moving around isn't much of an issue.

The one thing that does irritate me is people that cram thicker cards into toploaders that are clearly too small for the card. I've only had to do it once but one time I couldn't pull the card out, I had to extract it with an exacto knife by cutting off one side. If there's any resistance going in, it's not the right fit people.. I don't mind dinged corners or even some creases but to intentionaly add damage, why?

Someone told me about this two years ago so I might as well pass the info along. It's called 'FUN YET POLYBAGS' It's no longer in production unfortunately. If you need any PM ME and I'll give you some if you can offer me some advice on cards.

Personally, cards I am displaying or that I know I won't be trading/selling soon go into one touches. Everything else goes in top loaders.

do you think one protects the card better than the other or one touches ever caused damage to the card?

As long as you get the right size, and don't move the cards in and out of the cases a lot you shouldn't have a problem.

so you don't think the card moving in the case hurts it?

It shouldn't unless you jostle the hell out of it.I would recommend that you should use toploaders if your selling things at shows and constantly having to cart stuff around and its easier to store because it takes up less space but otherwise a one touch does nothing much to hurt a card.I mean...come on...how much moving around do your cards do on a regular basis.Even looking through and sorting them doesn't necessarily mean they get jostled too much.

I put all my high end chromes and anything else high end in one touch magnet holders. I have NEVER had any card damaged by the holders. Of course, I place all the magnet holders in "seal king" team bags, which fit the ultra pro one touch magnets PERFECTLY. Unfortunately, they don't make the "seal king" team bags anymore, and i'm down to my last pack of 100.

The cards don't move in the one touch magnets unless you shake them REAL hard, and frankly they slide only a millimeter cause the cards fit in the recessed area quite snugly.

One other great thing about the ultra pro magnet holders is that the recessed area is pretty much standard size, ie, they are GREAT for detecting TRIMMED cards, particularly chrome ones that may be smaller than usual in size. The magnet holders fit perfectly in shoeboxes as well, so they are my number one choice for valuable permanent card storage.

Anything that I am going to eventually sell, which means i'm going to carry them from place to place, goes in top loaders. The dangerous things about top loaders are of course bent microcorners with the penny sleeves, and the card can still be bent, and actually slide out of the toploaders unless they are in team bags. Frankly, the only advantage of top loaders is that they take up less space. I find it very difficult to find spotless, unwarped and scratchless top loaders, whereas the magnet holders are virtually always pristine out of the plastic wrap.
