I know 99% of the board will prefer the Cal Ripken, but I cast my vote for Trevor Time!

Nice cards. I really like your collection of signed RCs. I've recently gotten into them myself.

Thanks all for the compliments.
Yes, the PSA/DNA rookie autos I have really enjoyed collecting. I would probably sell everything else in the collection before I would sell them. They can be hard to find, and then harder to upgrade to a nice auto, and their resell value isn't the greatest so they really provide a big sense of personal satisfaction :P

really nice stuff man~! where'd you get all those autos?

The ripken I actually sent off to the company that he does signings for, all the rest I bought raw on ebay and then sent all to PSA for authentication.

What does PSA/DNA charge to slab cards like that? I have a bunch of rookie autos from back in the early 90s that I got in person and wouldnt mind slabbing if the cost wasnt crazy.

By the way, awesome collection.

Ball in glove, batter still looking at the pitcher.

I noticed that for the first time last night myself, after looking at the scan. Can't figure it out. If it was just a pose, why would he have the ball in glove, and it definetely couldn't have been live...very odd. Then I though maybe they actually superimposed the batter on the other picture...which is the only thing that wouid really make sense, and that the artist didn't notice the ball....either way, interesting picture. Another odd thing, is the ump looks like he is still waiting to see the pitch to.

I thought i would share a couple tips for those looking to start these, or are have recently started...
Most of the time it will be cheaper to buy already slabbed, when you figure you have to pay an average of $25/card for authentication and s/h...and then there are a lot of fakes out there, and you would hate to spend that $25 only to find out you bought a fake.

I personally use the psa/dna quick opinion service for raw cards that I buy, (unless i know the signature pretty well, as I don't want to waste my time and $25 for all the fakes out there). For just $7, you can fill out a form (just google psa dna quick opinion), and list the auction number and they will email you back. Especially worth it for the high end autos I use for cuts...you would hate to spend the bucks for a custom and have the auto be fake (I was burnt once by not spending the $7, never again!).

Some players are easier to find than other. I suggest you look for nicely centered cards and nice autos on the easier players. For the more difficult ones (mariano, rickey...) get what you can find, and upgrade later if you can.

Man those are nice!!!

I have a question. You have to be a member to submit to PSA right??? What if you just want to submit one card? Do you still have to pay for a membership??
